-Meeting Daily Sales Targets can be a challenge at times, however finding different methods/strategies to sell the product helps alot. -Relationships with co-workers was friendly, honest, professional & it was a fun(productive) environment to work in. -I've learnt problem solving skills, how to Multitask, Time Management & planning my day inadvance(day before).

Pros: Monthly campaigns
Cons: Long hours (late Appointments etc)

Excellent learning and mentoring

Wonderful company, fun exciting and vibey, great learning experience, absolutely wonderful salary and perks, great management, terrible working hours, barely any social life, worked 6 days a week every week, for at least 12 hours a day, so extremely tiring and demanding, barely any growth potential, and job security not the greatest

Pros: Great salary and perks
Cons: Long working hours high stress environment

Personal Trainer and Mac Farmer

I am a personal trainer in the mornings at Virgin Active but then return to the farm where I live and farm 4ha of my own macadamia trees planted 4 years ago.

Pros: I have learned to be prompt, to deal with all kinds of people, to manage admin such as invoices and financial planning.
Cons: There is no room for growth at Virgin Active and I want to work on a larger Macadamia Farm as I love farm management and farming these trees specifically.

Excellent learning curve

gon A day at Virgin Active starts with confirming all your sales calls for the day, then going to the gym floor to gain leads and just speak to gym members and get to know those you can. Then you go follow up on those leads while attending to your sales calls. This process betwee lead generation and making sales is what is done. My relationship with co workers is harmonious and unproblematic. I am surrounded by extremely professional colleagues and allows me to strive and achieve those heights of professionalism. The job has taught me to be open minded and be able to socialise with any kind of person. It has taught me to take advantage of my extrovert personality.

Pros: Great opportunity for growth and excellence payment and commission structure
Cons: Poor management

I learnt professionalism above all.

I honestly love working with people, helping people and meeting new people everyday. I have learnt a lot from different people, I have learnt professionalism, I have learnt how to handle a difficult person, I have learnt First aid and I have learnt to control my emotions. I enjoy helping people reach their goals, seeing them free and happy. The most challenging aspect of the job is packing weights and having a lot of workload on my own. First thing I do do when I get to work is to check if the work environment is clean, if the customer is happy with it then I'm happy too, make some calls to try getting some potential Personal training booster packs, get back to the floor once I finish with my calls. Take lunch, come back from lunch and give some Aerobics classes. That's my favourite part, being active, teach and seeing people being satisfied with the service you have given them.

Pros: You get to meet new people everyday.
Cons: Packing heavy weights back to their racks.

Hit the ground running or you'll be managed out

Not a good work environment - very long hours - Good relationship with co-workers - Don't come here to learn or you won't cope - managers are at each other's throats - The most challenging aspects of the job is that the job is not sustainable

Pros: Some area much better than others
Cons: Very long hours, Lack of work life balance, Inconsistent leadership, Lack of growth, Out of pocket to execute duties, management is veryery big on working people out

Great learning opportunity

Although I don’t work at Virgin Active anymore but my 4 years spent as Personal Trainer was very demanding. On a daily I spent a minimum of 8 hours at the gym. Interacting with hundreds of members and working with clients. Most days I was in the gym by 6am and would leave after 7pm, especially during spring/summer season. Im used to working in a physically and demanding environment and engaging with people has never been a problem for me.

Pros: Build good relationships & uncapped profits
Cons: Long hours
