Mentorship Programme

Working as the mentor in university of Limpopo it was a great experience in my life, as I was engaging with various students, with different attitude and behaviours almost 3-4 days in the weeks, sometime during weekend and holidays with working hour for 2-3 hours per days. learned to have bold and also to build strong confidence as young students who willingly to learn. Surely by this, I really enjoy working with young and talent students as their mentor. This volunteer Job, its was difficult, because I was students, who was doing final year in Computer Sciences. My final year its involve lots of the projects, I remember they was a yearly final project that were doing it as the group to develop web application and mobile phone, this project its was the difficult project I ever do in my entire life. since its was 1 year programme for mentorship, as mentor I was awarded a certificate and trophy for best mentor and even went to gala dinner.

Experience here is fruitful

A typical day at work includes meetings, preparations of agenda and writing of minutes. research data analysis, data capturing and analysis, interpretation of data etc. I work closely with the Faculty of Science and agriculture Executive Dean with regards to matters involving post graduate students. I assist with registration of postgraduate students and i enjoy helping the students with whichever situations they come with.

Pros: great opportunity to be absorbed hopefully as a full time lecturer
Cons: the workload is a lot

Excellent experiential learning

The students library assistant position granted me an opportunity to know more about library clients services and to acquire skills required in any academic library setting which also includes online searches using different databaseses, locating library materials using different systems, checking in and out library materials, classifying and catalogue library materials.

Pros: Great opportunity for exposure to the library setting environment
Cons: Lack of planning and task assigning

Enthusiastic

Im a student at university of limpopo and ive learnt alot of things as a student.respect and courage made me the person i am today and im willing to showcase whatever i learnt at UL in your company

I enjoy new challanging working environment

I had been a lecturer since I started working in 2001. I had develop excellent working relationship with students and co-workers. I am also like to work independent in most cases. At the moment I am studying towards my PhD

Materials modelling

Perform computer simulations to analyse the properties of materials at atomistic level using computer codes. Me and the Co-workers are actually on contract whereas studing towards Masters and Phd. I enjoy sharing may work at conferences with other people in different study directions. The most challenging aspects of the job is when results fail to generate which affects the time frame of the year plan

Excellent learning curve

ss and give reports outcomes and goals to be achieved on that particular day. Everyone of my co-workers is like a family member. i have learnt how to work together As a team and gained more experience and time management and decision making. I enjoyed facilitating students and getting to know them better and watch them excel. The most challenging aspect would be none because i love everything a bout it and it is not a challenge to me doing what love doing the most.

Hard working

I am fresh out of varsity, with no work experience.The system would not allow me to pass without having filled in all details, all fields are mandatory. I would like to be considered for promotion
