Learnt best practices in route to market and distribution business

This job gave me an opportunity to understand not only the sales part but also to help the distributors with Routes planing, effective coverage and capability development for their sales & warehouse teams. Furthermore I had to make sure that the distributor is profitable after 3 months of operation by maximizing return on investments through proper coverage planning and infield coaching. I have learnt that to build a sustainable distribution model one needs to differentiate the distributors from wholesalers through designing a proper basket of products offering that will be competitive and help build the range and encourage all times availability through basket deals. It is also very important to reach as many customers as possible versus relying on few bulk customers who cherry pick all the time with very little loyalty and high pricing sensitivity.

Pros: Design promotion basket that will help close distribution gaps while driving volumes
Cons: poor planning causes unnecessary preasure

Wonderful years of massive learning.

Working for Unilever has been awesome. It has taught me quite a lot about the FMCG industry. From what it's like to be inside the plant while ensuring safety, quality and environmental standards are kept. It has been great growth for me personally and professionally. Great surroundings, great personalities from management to the shop floor. Honestly it's been home!

Pros: Great opportunity for gaining knowledge.
Cons: I wish I was involved more.

Excellent learning curve and opportunity to grow professionaly

In the years I worked at Unilever, I have grown and matured, I leant to plan and priorotise work and produce great reaults, I learnt to work independently and effectively. I fell inlove with my job and understood exactly what I needed to deliver, I learned to be creative or find ways to be more effective and efficient, build relationships with coworkers, execute ideas and always stay ontop of the game, though it hasn't always been perfect but I strived to give results. The values I learned and have taken with are: RESPECT, CARE AND ACCOUNTABILITY.
