Excellent learning curve

As this was my first official job, I was absolutely excited. Like all government departments, the South African Police Services also has its own issues but they try by all means to rectify them as amicably as possible

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion and job security

Perfect first job.

A normal day for me is to assist my HR manager with various admin tasks. Sit in interviews, doing background checks on the possible candidates. Performing personal assistant duties.

Pros: Great opportunity to learn.
Cons: I need a career that will have a salary of at least R6000.

Excellent learning curve

I enjoy working under pressure. The challenge tp fully investigate a case and present an air tight case to court which results in a successful prosecution is what drives me and excites me. I am always looking forward to new challenges. I always try to make my commanders proud through the quality of work I produce. On most days we start of with challenging, stressful tasks, but by working together as a team we somehow manage to end the day on a high note.

Pros: Self satisfaction and great challenges
Cons: Limited opportunity for promotion

Being able to lead a project where a radio communication system.

Had to program all portable and mobile radios with a program that had both 12,5 channels spacing and 25 channels spacing. Which was a success and worked as planned we were able to migrate from the old system to the new system smoothly without any problems and long communication interruptions.

Pros: Learned a lot being part of the team that planned, executed and maintained the simulcast system.
Cons: Sometimes will work till late but was always exciting to see the project succeeding no matter what.

A great learning opportunity

It’s an 8 hours of making sure that we help pay the police for their extra hours. I work well with my colleagues in helping achieve the day to day goals. I have learnt to work under pressure and to do the task as efficiently as possible because salaries closes The most challenging factor is when the police being their paper work that are incorrect and we have to keep telling them over and over again o. What they should do

Pros: Advancement of career
Cons: Part time
