Management experience
I currently manage 30 staff members and responsible for Sales merchendising HR and ensuring retail sosolutions through sales. Daily duties includes ensuring sufficient stock level, eliminating returns and increasing sales. Negotiate deals with retailers and recommended retail selling price, negotiating shelfspace and edhoc displays. Manage company resources and gadgets. Performe human resources duties which include but not limit to hiring and conducting disciplinery procedures. Market research and analysis competitor activities so as to ensure that we remain competetive in the market.

The Family
Smollan is an amazing company to work for, mainly because they are so family orientated. My typical day is to check on my execs diary in the morning, read and answer any emails that demand my attention. I also make sure that. The domestic workers are okay and that they have completed their morning duties. I escalate any maintenance issues, pay accounts and set up meetings. I always make my boss a cup of coffee in the morning and have a conversation about how she would like her day to go and if I should add any more meetings or cancel. Taking care of 150 staff can be challenging to say the least but everyday is different and most days I feel so proud that we have grown and come this far together. I'll keep saying that smollan is a family and it's something that you can't help but feel. Your not a number.

Unhappy
Long working hours for unreasonable salary. Miscommunication between Supervisor and Product Consultants. No adequate training provided. No space or potential for promotion. Supervisor unfit for specific position as supervisor. Contract rules terms and conditions are breached and supervisor makes his own rules regarding our off-days and salary dates. Co-workers like Sales or floor managers is not friendly and will not co operate at times

Excellent learning curve, but the traveling was too much over a 1000km a week
The basic salary was R11000, plus car allowance R4500 and combined was R13000. Which was not enough to cover the repairs of the vehicle and not fair for the traveling I was doing. It was challeng everyday with traveling but I certainly enjoyed doing my job as it was always on point. Working with my manager was not easy cause she was not always cluedup with everything and she depended on her employees with alot of things. Same as I tought her alot when she first came in the company.
Pros: I had a great opportunity of promotion from sales consultant to field market
Cons: Driving long distance sometimes had to drive out from 5am came back 8pm

Smollan is good company to work as a promote you can even work 2 jobs at the same time because you give then your time table.I enjoy work there part time I get paid every week is great.

Maketer value
It is nice nd challenging to work at Smollans and Associates,and initially there was a hope that hard work discipline loyalty does pay off but now all that is something of the past and there's not even a leader to climb on anymore.

Good customer service experience and a learning curve.
I am a well spoken person who enjoys working with people as i believe in not only independence, however interdependence as well, and that has made me to be able to have mutual understanding with different race, age or group. Convincing people and handling objections is one of my strong points and it always works to my advantage. My only weak point is losing and failing so i work to the best of my abilities in order to achieve my target and goals and that has groomed me to be a good, trustworthy employee that will bring integrity, competence and commitment to the company. I aspire to learn and grow in this business, hence I strive to reinvent myself and improve my short coming where it is due.

Learnership programme that assisted me in developing my skills
A lot of challeges as I was new to the Call Centre environment but with the amazing Mentors I managed to develop my skills and build up my confidence levels to new heights. Registering Call Centre Vouchers, Call Centre assistance to Tiger Brands, Reckitt Bechiser, Danone and Coca-Cola. I delat with big name brands and Clients. Our Field Managers placed a lot of pressure on me and I had to rise to the challenge and constantly deliver on service. I enjoyed the satisfaction of ending a happy caller's call and moving on to the next one and the team I worked with was very professional. I have learnt from the best!
