Working at Sasol Mining is a great privilege, the company is well structured with loads of paths to lead to. The work is strenuous even when the supervisors try to support us it still feels like an hopeless case. Growth within my current position is limited and I feel like I've fallen into a routine on a daily basis. Work is work but routine with.no growth is.never the right way to settle into a career while there are so many opportunities available out there.

Working with people
it will be ideal for me as I will hands on regarding planning and engaging with different individuals to achieve excellent results, Being in the employment of a large mining sector and one of competitive companies of your calibre, I believe this would give me the opportunity to put my skills I have learnt at Sasol and Tertiary institutions into a more productive and focussed position.

Great career oppourtunities if you willing to give your pound of flesh
Excellent company to work for if you are willing to work hard. If you want to start a career not a job, with prospects of vertical and lateral movement then Sasol Mining is the place to be. People are a core value to the company and they truly believe in investing in the people.
Pros: Good salaries, career prospects and job security
Cons: All work and no play, very autoctatic organisational structure, S1 style of managment still the predominant way of management

Working at Sasol mining
Working at Sasol mining gave me an opportunity to learn more about coal .Sasol is a big company that produces coal , petrol and etc. .The area that I am currently planning for is doing good in production . The machine availability is on the average of 97%.the machine run time is also good because of work management process 7 Steps namely :Identify , Prioritize , schedule , Plan , execute , Work feedback and Work Status Control The most challenging aspect is when the foreman plan the job and job execution is not done on time . Or when people identify problems on the equipment and report later when the equipment already failed I AM A HARD WORKING PERSON , I CAN WORK WITH GROUP OF PEOPLE , I BELEAVE IN PROBLEM SOLVING .

Cons: At sasol mining I am currently doing standby after hours . to organise cranes when needed or non stock materials when neded on breakdown

Excellent learning curve
I work both in the office environment and on site/s. when in the office, I deal mostly with drafting reports, procedures, ISO 14001 systems, reviewing reports, etc. On site work involves site inspections and audits. I work with all levels of the company (Top and low management levels e.g. Vice President to a General worker). I have an excellent relationship with all my colleagues and this is because of my humble and respectful nature. I have learnt that environmental issues are very broad and although I have grown my knowledge in a variety of environmental focus areas, I still have a lot to learn. The advantage I have is that I am a quick learner. I enjoy everything about my work, there are exciting challenges and opportunities every now and then. Most people are focused on running the core function of the business and thus they are just too busy to entertain environmental issues. Getting people to see the importance of environmental management and the need to be in compliance all the times is a challenge.

Self motivated person
Working for sasol mining it's a great opportunity big time because it's a global company with great opportunities.The team that I'm working with nd before we had a good communication skills and team work spirit.I have learn most of the things from my senior artisans because they have more than 20 yrs.I enjoy doing what I know best my job as a millwright maintaining and repairing of equipment also machines.I'm hands on.the challenge thing in my job is plc

Great Exposure
Normal working hours from 7:30 to 4:30, not too much pressure unless mines need their drawings urgently. Amazing co-workers willing to help all the time, just too much competition and favoritism. I have learned more about the mining industry surface and underground, working with clients and service providers. I enjoyed the most handling a project I am assigned to and completing it diligently. The most challenging is when I am not given too much exposure and given the platform, I get frustrated because I want to work and be trust that I can do it.

I like to interact with people
My work in daily basis is to plan and interact with people in my organization ,made them aware of risks associated with the work they preform in their daily basis.
Pros: I worked for this company since 1997 beacause is world leader.

Diesel mechanic
9 years experience in this field and category. I've been exposed to rebuilding, repairing as well as maintaining most of the machines i worked on in the underground mines i worked for, one being Golf fields gold mine and Sasol mining, where both the teams i worked with are supportive and goal driven.
Pros: A proper personal development plan has been introduced recently for us to check our opportunities, which i think it'd be great to have.
Cons: No fatigue shifts are allowed for longer than allowed by law.
