in my current job I am self employed running a copy shop just to keep my working abilities ready for the next job. it helps me with customer services abilities and data integrity,

Good learning curve

I worked with public on daily basis. I had a good working relationship with colleagues. I learned that dealing with public you need to be very patient and understand different characters of people.

Challenging but exciting job

People not accepting changes faster. Research a lot and go through standards for benchmarking.

Very good learning

My typical day involves viewing the operational performance of all our branches in the province. Identify poor performance and issue directives to address the shortcomings. I regularly attend War Room meetings to give presentations of my section`s performance. My relationship with colleagues is cordial and professional. I have learnt how to handle matters in a highly pressured environment, take command and control of the situation. I enjoy working with people.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Exposure to danger

HR Assistant,

I am currently volunteering at SAPS as an HR Assistant, I glad that they gave me a chance to work with them i am learning technical & non-technical skills e.g i can work under pressure, i can handle stress. They are also happy to have me because i am vibrant, committed, focused, accommodative, organized & i am a team player & i finish work on time. My typical work day are: Answering calls, Taking messages, welcoming clients, Emailing, Faxing, Photocopying, filing, Typing of letters, update personal files, update Leave register, process leave application & leave auditing. Lastly i am a very friendly person who have interpersonal skills, computer skills & etc

Pros: They say i must wait for posts to be advertised so that i can i apply for a permanent position
Cons: I am working 8hrs per day

Excellent

I have a good relationship with my co-workers. I ve learnt to be dedicated at my job.I enjoyed to trace the suspect and brought them to court and get convictions.The challenge is when suspect ran away of the country

No opportunity to go futher

Although you get a lot of courses and training in the long run you never get opportunity for promotion. There is so much discrimination and unfareness in the government sector. Lots of stress cause only few people really work the rest has to carry the load while others just sit around. No support from management the facilities is in a terrible state and very dirty some rat and cockroaches.

Demotivating

There's a good relationship between co-workers. We work under limited resources but expected to be productive. I've learnt the use of basic hand tools and discipline as it is the most important thing in SAPS. I'm not challenged at all as it the repeatativ work everyday.

Pros: No possible growth for a technical minded person

I have served my country for 27 years honourable. I have a clean record .

I am part of a team that specializes on the criminal activities of gangsterism in the western cape. We use all sort of methods trying to put the culprits behind bars in the framework of the law. Because im working at Crime intelligence i can not divulge anymore as i have signed documents not to explain the working methodology of my unit. I have an excellent relationship with my colleagues. I have investigated various high profile gangsters. .

Pros: To arrest your target or taking firearms and drugs out of the community
Cons: To many politics that interfere with work and promotion

Still studying a Btech degree in Public Management

Maintaining good realtions wih colleagues and clients by delivering an excellent service. Having a portfolio of diverse skills and knowledge. A solid educational and training foundation. An extensive experience of more than 16 years in the administration industry. Provide a very high level of client service based on oustandin communication, precision work & interpersonal skills.

Pros: I always go extra mile
Cons: Sometimes I work on weekends to meet the deadlines.
