Sa Navy Reviews

I learned alot because every after six months I was going on course. Eg First Aid, Fire fighting,

I was working 8 hours a day and pulling duties every after 4 days(24hrs). The communication that we had was very strong because we were working as a team on daily basis. As well as our relationship was good, we were like a family. I enjoyed solving problems, being a team player as well as working independently sometimes. I learned computer, driving skills (Military License) and of course Military skills. I was in the supply department (transport and logistics).

Pros: I believe I have more opportunities to the maritime industry
Cons: I was working 8 hours a day pulling duties for 24 hours and working on weekends.

Recruitment and selection, dealing with pay and leave

the Navy is a relaxed organisation you must have to do your work meet the deadline no one will fire you the only way that the system get read of you is AWOLs.i was nice dealing with shortlisting and selection boards ,sorting of application forms, setting in boards for interviews as a board member or Secretary sometimes.

Pros: am a hard worker and able to work under pressure
Cons: I won't mind working overtime

Good foundation

Good day I have been with the Navy for more than 10 years and I have learnt a lot during this time. My interpersonal skills have been developed beyond my imagination, computer skills since my work is 80% computer based. I have also seen my leadership skills flourish since I got entrusted with leading roles in many activities and currently in a supervisory level, my reports speaks volume and the awards I have obtained since I became a senior operator. Communication is what I do for leaving and it's what I have been practising since I joined the SA Navy and I enjoy it a lot. The challenging parts of my job would be shortage of resources and limited career growth opportunities but other than that I'm copying very well

Pros: Self development opportunity which produces a great individual
Cons: Absence from home for lengthen period
