Learning curve
the workplace afforded me the ability to deal with people from different areas and personalities. Gained experience on different departments. Co-workers are very helpful. the benefits are good, from medical aid contributions to random checkers vouchers for company achievements.

Vast experience in precipitation of PGM'S and ion exchange
On daily basis i have to ensure that 99.99 assay of gold is produced by electrolysis process and granulation of cathode sponge in order to produce granules for production of small gold bars and Kruger Rand's. I previously worked for Impala Platinum in Rhodium section where i received feed from Ruthenium section to separate rhodium from iridium using ion exchange and precipitating to produce a purity of >99.95 rhodium and iridium salts

New challenge to me is the inductive furnaces which are very old and obsolete
I am in charge of Electrical & Instrumentation, rendering service to the precious metal refinery & smelting plant. I work hand in hand with Plant Superintendents who happen to be Metallurgical Engineers by profession. I ensure plant availability at all times. I do Foreman & Engineer standby. the most challenging part of my job is the quality of plant safety as the plant projects are not designed using modern technology and executed in substandard
Pros: I have been promised promotion to Section Engineer when one of the Engineers leaves

Excellent personal and professional curve. Expanded Role with new challenges.
Very agile and challenging environment. Opportunities to push oneself to high performance. Collaborative teams and high performance driven.
