I like my job because most of the time i am feed worker .

I am anot independent consultant. I manage portfolios for all Old Mutual SADC region. This included both businews and technology related projects. I love the culture because all people are welcoming and eager to help

Analytical quick learner
My typical work day as a underwriter involves financially and medically underwriting prospective clients applying for insurance. An underwriter's duty is to evaluate risk and ensure that we put good risk on books and also charge premiums accordingly - based on age, income and health status. Very good relationships with peers as well as management. In underwriting you learn something new everyday - come across new disease and many times financial requirements change based on laws.

Excellent learning curve
Recently withdrew from the role of a Financial Adviser at Old Mutual. I have also worked as a service and accounts specialist and White Belt Consultant at ABSA in the Vehicle Finance Department. I feel I would be an ideal candidate for a role in the financial services industry given the record of extensive experience gained in this particular sector in the pursuit of a permanent role in the Investment field. Not only will this help me thrive, but it will also help steer an already on-going endeavour toward refining my skills and abilities for consistency in delivering services. I have 9 years’ experience in the service industry cultivating relationships with clients that I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with on a daily basis and roughly 4 years anchoring Project Management opportunities where I worked closely with different individuals in the quest of running successful projects.

Interacting with clients, Decision Making skills,
I work flexi hours between 7.15-9.15 One works has to investigate on average on 7 cases day. Part of the investigation includes checking all the relevant systems: The value of the claim, entry date, the members portfolio. Go through documents such as Last Will, forms. Contact various family members to acquire outstanding information. Taking into consideration all the relevant information recommend an allocation to the legal and factual dependents.Handle incoming calls , emails regards claims. Challenging aspect of the role is when the family refuses to cooperate. This results when the deceased member had different unit families. The other difficult aspect is explaining to the parties how pension fund act work when they listed as beneficiaries. Apart from the daily job I am part o the EE committee where I get to represent my co-workers with any job related barriers. I enjoy working with people.

A very reputative company to work for
Drive +-50km on daily basis to generate new business, work on admin of existing business, clear diary, attend appointments, do follow-ups on pending applications. A very diverse and proactive team with vision, friendly staff members always willing to learn and to assist. I have learnt that there is no leader without a team and a team leader who is successful is the one who make others successful. Giving information, solving clients queries and interacting with people is what I enjoy the most. What I find most challenging about my job is that everyday you learn something new (i.e. new process, new procedures)
Pros: Got promoted in six months period to a team leader position
Cons: Delay in system process is what frustrates me the most especially where there is no explanation as to why.

Working as Insurance Sales Consultant
Its good to in work in Insurance Industry, as you manage your own time, you can start the day anytime, depending on your preparation for appointments. I have an excellent relationship with my Clients and Colleagues. we continue studying all the time to be abreast with what is happening in the Markets. I have Marketing diploma, from IMM and Inseta NQF Level 5 credits (120) I have the most number of Clients in my team. I enjoy helping clients, making them reach their goals, it fulfills me. The most challenging part of our job is when the client cant afford anymore to continue with his or her premium, and has to cancel, all cancellations affect us financially.

Its a good place to grow if you are hungry for financial freedom. And the is a high chance for promotion. And the environment is good to work in. Sales. Customer care. Follow up.
