Excellent learning curve

I have been in the short term insurance industry for 4 years now, started with my learnership in 2015, and now that am done with my qualification and have 3 year experience in personal and commercial as a claims handler/negotiator. I would really love to work in this growth Orientated company especially if it’s related to what I do now (claims Handler). I enjoy working in the short term insurance industry, am self-motivated, hard and disciplined worker. I have a positive attitude, energetic and curiosity. My goal is to work for a growth orientated company were I can be recognized for my hard work, skills and knowledge that I have gained or experienced in my current job and short term insurance as non-motor negotiator, and I am willing to give my best performance and strive to learn more in order to improve my experience and knowledge.

Great business exposure

I have a obtained a national diploma in Human Resources management and have 7 years experience in HR space. I’m passionate about my work, I enjoy working with people, I’m process driven and throughout my years in Hr have learned to work and build meaningful relationships with the business and relevant stakeholders.

Motivated. Swift Learner.

Everyday is a busy day when working in the Group Schemes (Broker) Division. Have to be accurate, motivated and have the ability to have a sharp state of mind and eye. I have close relationships with most of my colleagues, by doing so the work ethic is a lot better. Since working i have learnt claims procedures, binder fee payments and Bordeaux capturing. What i enjoyed most is learning the vast knowledge over the time I've been in the company. The challenge would be to meet cut-off every month, since there's quite a bit to do over a period of +- 20 working days.

Pros: Great company
Cons: Reaching pinnacle of the department.

Diverse culture

A typical work day would start at 6 am as the department I was working in allowed for flexitime. Some co-workers try to make you day there pleasant. The most challenging aspect of working there was for me not being seen for what I could have brought to the organisation.

Pros: If in a select group, opportunities abound
Cons: Trying to diversify in job tasks with people who are not skilled or qualified for it

Fast learner

Being a claims handler especially for motor includes ensuring that the client is kept up to date at all times,regular follow ups with repairers for vehicle to be assessed.We also follow up with an assessor to ensure the report is submitted without delays so we can provide an update as to whether it is economical to repair or not.We ensure that bottlenecks are ironed out which could hinder the process and dellays keeping in check that the car hire days are enough for the client.We also ensure repairers treat customers fairly and provide regular updates with regards to additonals that might be needed to finish repairs. We ensure that we keep repairers liable for post repairs complaints. The client is asking referred to third party department for updates on recoveries .

Pros: Great opportunity for a future specialist promotion
Cons: A lot of work load

Excellent learning curve

It seems,I'm compliant but being underpaid,compared to non compliant people.One can't cone into a company with all the necessary qualifications and still ne underpaid,with increases that are less than inflation,that will definitely not keep any employee

Pros: Atleast there's a bursary
Cons: Unfair salary scales and pathetic increase in 2019

Excellent learning curve

Am currently in claims department as a commercial and personal claims Negotiator. My duties is registering claims, processing claims, settlement and doing rejection letter based on the policy wording of that specific policy schedule. These duties need alot of concentration and good time management because we have to keep the SLA low as possible to sho consistency and experience by being quick and working together as a team. With my team we are all individual team players because we are able to assist one another in order to keep the good customer service and a good impression on our SLA. I have learnt that working as a time and managing your time makes your work alot easier and you start enjoying it because you are always ahead and can be able to adjust on any changes at the given time. Most challenging aspect in my job is handling an difficult client's

Cons: Have to adorbt to new challenges and changes which is a good thing because you learn

There's programmes that help to empower employees

I'm a lead Warmer. We call old mutual clients. I work very well with my colleagues. I've learnt alot from old mutual iwyze and I have grown as a person. I've learnt telephone etiquette and how to speak with clients over the phone. The most challenging part of the job is the working hours

Pros: There is growth if you work hard
Cons: Long working hours
