My Review Summary

My typical day at MTN is interesting as I meeting so many different and makes the day very interesting. My relationship with my co-workers is very good and I love them like family. When I started working at MTN I had not knowledge of telecoms and about network but I always looking for something challenging. What I enjoy most about working at MTN are the different events held and all the enjoyable Christmas parties the always have for us. The challenges I face everyday are dealing with difficult clients and what make me feel good after dealing with them is that I know I have been able to deal with them because they leave feeling good knowing that they have been assisted and I have been able to retain the client.

Pros: I'm glad to have been given the opportunity to work for such a great company and have learned so much in all the years of been here.
Cons: I have always worked normal working hours and have always been able to balance my work and personal life.

Challenging and exciting

1) On my typical day i get into the office and work i have not completed i would complete so when there is other work give it does not pill up and having to rush finish everything that day. 2)I get along with my colleagues and we are like family. 3) There is so much I've learned since starting at Mtn and I'm still learning new things , I love challenges cause they just so motivating. 4) What i love most of the company is that it's not all work but we also have socializing times. The parties Mtn has are one's i would always treasure. 5) Challenging aspects of my job is dealing with clients with different charactors, some very difficult and some a pleasure to deal with.

Pros: Getting increases and they don't make a difference in one's salary.
Cons: I don't have a problem with my working times.

Excellent learning curve

Working at this company, I've learnt to introduce quick and fast new ways of working in order to deliver on time and within budget around 47 projects/changes required from business in a year. The entire team were 'millenniums' and had to explain on a daily basis everything before any support and/or approved business requirements would have been submitted for the implementation thereof - on the job learning/training. They follow different 'thinking patterns' and have their own time to perform any work - constant reminders to deliver what was expected from them. Executive struggle to delegate any form of accountability (approval of Project Charter/Budget/New Initiatives) while coaching a young graduate who had the delegation as mentioned. This caused lots of confusion under employees as most of the time the 'message' which left the Executive office, was conveyed differently with another purpose - constant rework against small time-frames.

Pros: I'd an amazing learning curve in the company. Most of the work was green field and development was happening from scratch up to delivery of product to market.
Cons: Management didn't value employees that much - had to work long hours & managed/oversee up to 47 Projects/Changes. They thought they could hire anyone new to get the same job done with same efficiency which was absurd.
