I finished my 2 year Diploma in Payroll, HR and Finance with Payroll Education (SETA aproved)

I am currently employed by Media24 in the Payroll Department as a payroll administrator where I have gain knowledge and understanding the protocol and procedures of Payroll. I am highly self motivated, reliable, honest and responsible person. I can work well under pressure within a team or by myself and have the ability to prioritize the work to meet the deadlines. I love helping and assist my colleagues wherever I can. I am not afraid to ask question and love to learn and a challenge .

Pros: I see myself in a more senior position - team leader
Cons: I do not want to work weekends - family time

Experiences in the working environment

I do believe that I am capable working in a team as well as individually. Our department is very deadline driven which as taught me how to prioritize and organize better. Our team works well together we do have our little disagreements at times but it never anything to big that can't be solved. A typical day at work would be requesting all outstanding invoices & statements, forwarding them for purchases orders, capturing, recons, filing, adhoc gt's. I have also mentored learners that worked with us on a temporary basis, which has taught me how to manage others well. Challenging aspects would be working with non-complying co-workers or suppliers as it is a full process in order to make payment.

Pros: Broadens your knowledge, provides alot of opportunities
Cons: Having to work with non-compliant co-workers & clients, changes being made without consulting all team members

I am a hard worker and learn quite fast. analytical

2 Good Day I hereby wish to apply for the advertised position. My experience started from July 1997 till March 2016 (due to retrenchment) at Media24 in the Call centre/Marketing department. I have worked and grew within the company.Customer service, Data capture and mostly admin, data extraction, bulk notificating via sms or email,cleaning of data etc. Travelling for to train and representative at events only in South Africa. Reporting, Updating web promotions etc. I have been a leave replacement at Imperial Logistics for 2 weeks in October 2016 doing the fillowing scanning docs, printing invoices, posting and courier documents to clients. Capturing invoice details. Filing and updating loads. Reconciliation of invoices before posting or courier to clients. Mostly excel. I've also done reception duties at PinewoodSA in Woodstock. Thanks Julia De Bruyn

Cons: working overtime and getting through backlogs. It was worth it

I am a quick learner and like to take on a new challenge

I manage a team of 19 people, do daily , weekly and monthly stats. I have and arrange team meetings. I also assist with interviews for new staff . I am a quick learner and like to take on a new challenge

Good people, declining industry

While the direct line managers are extremely understanding there is little understanding of the amount of work done on a daily basis by corporate and this resulted in some positions being overloaded with work while others’ workloads’ did not increase. In addition, the declining print media industry means that retrenchments happen frequently so the staff is forced to constantly take on more work to compensate for positions that have been made redundant.

Growth opportunities. However annual restructuring due to economic climate. Enjoyed my employment here. Company is evolving as the need for content is changing and evolving; keeping digital as a core focus

Good starting point

Pros: Coffee and regular updates on the status of the company. Work hours are good. No work on weekends. An opportunity to learn new technologies like SOAP UI. Cons: Transport to and from work. There is no sympathy demonstrated to those who rely on public transport, especially when working in far flung areas.
