It has been a great learning curve but the employees are not acknowledged for their work
•Working at Markham has been great giving me skills and experience. •The hours are long and there are less day offs. •Employees don’t get along which brings the team spirit down. •Growth in the company is very rare.

Good learning curve
-There was a day where we had to work extra hours just to make more sales and meet the target. -My team turned out awesome on that day, and we worked and had fun as any other normal days. - On this day I learned that, team work really makes the job done and it's also vital in any other organisation. - I personally enjoyed, us having fun and making the job done. - The most challenging aspects are that, some of our team members are slow but the work hard on trying to improve on that. Time keeping sometimes is also challenging.

Training store teams on visual merchandising and company visual standards
I work closely with the ops divisional manager in running our division by doing store visits with area managers and field visual merchandisers. These visits we critically look at vm and numbers if they are working together , is visual assisting with upping sales in stores , are store teams trained and uphold all the vm standard according to the company's strategy. I also need to ensure that all our prop that are sent out to store are well looked after and used correctly. I head up all the new store openings in my division.
Pros: Being exposed to different people from all walks of life
Cons: the salary is not competetive

Joy in the workplace
my typical day at work would be coming in doing my admin there after having a cup of coffee having a fun talk with co workers before starting the day by opening the store and making sales whenever there is customers. my relationship with my co workers is very strong we like a family speak and share anything and everything it is fun working with them. iv learnt to work with people and under pressure, everyday isn't the same, iv learnt how to lead the team and work under pressure, iv learnt what its like to handle the everyday pressure of reporting issues instore and managing stock on a daily. what I enjoy most is working with people assisting customers and having them leave the store happy. most challenging aspect is preventing stockloss and making sure store makes daily targets.
Pros: managing a team is what has lead me in line to get a promotion
Cons: working long hours is something i am use to even working everyday with only two days off in a month

Wen it comes to my work I always do it to the best of my orebulerty to get it done.
To work at my company is grade but wen it comes to the people that is incharge is the problem, they say that thaey want to develop you but than it dus not happen, wen it comes to a typical work day I believe that is must always be grade because you spend the hole day with your work people, and my relationship with my co workers is very grade because I always put a smile on there faces. I have learnt alot working with people, al about fashion ,merchandising, most important wen you want to learn about thing than tou must do it.is wen I started at markham ididnt know anything about fashion but I have decided to take notes and start to learn about fashion .

Great learning
Learnt not be friends with the staff members. To diarize important dates and complete tasks timeously. Delegates tasks and monitor the progress extensively and time frame to be applied as well. I have learnt to pop in the store anytime especially when I was off, it kept the team on their toes knowing that anytime I can come to the store,so they had to be on their game. Team work goes a long way and it's beneficial for the business. Planning your day makes magic and work becomes easy and enjoyable. Count stock everyday to track the losses.

Leadership
Its a very fast paced environment,with very welcoming employees and I have learned that team work pays up good and I enjoy helping others achieve thier targets and see growth and the most challenging aspects of the job is that when the business is slow it get much harder to reach or maybe exceed targets.
Pros: Opportunity for growth in a supporting environment.
Cons: You get less time to spend with friends and family as you are required to be at work 7 days a week.
