What I enjoy most of my current position is that my days are never the same. As a Supply Chain Support Manager my days are mainly taken up with identifying risks in the mining industry and the supply market. The changes in legislation and the interpretation thereof is also very challenging. My co-workers see me as a mentor and ask my views and assistance with a variety of functions. I have been privileged to mentor and assist people to reach very senior positions.

Pros: The best aspect of my current position is that my days can never be planned in the short term, my long term planning and goals are always reached.
Cons: Sometimes the deadlines are very tight and a lot of extra time and effort is needed.

Quick Learner, with both Gold and Platinum experience (Shallow intermediat and Deep)

Because of mining (Production) back round; enjoy arriving early with the team and leaving as well at the end of the day (Workaholic). Love to spend my day underground there where the problem lies, and together make a plan how to resolve it. (Give back experience gained through the years). Can work independently as well as in a group, dish out work and receive as well. You are never too old to learn something new. Satisfaction of seeing something that works out at the end of the day and somebody been taught excels as well. Different scenarios that you come upon that need to be dealt with successfully at the end of the day.

Pros: Busy with MMCC Certificate as well.

Excellent leanring

I am Rigger ropesman for 26 years and work for Lonmin 16 years know I can sling in shaft and do shaft work inspection of all rigging equipment can operated overhead cranes and mobile cranes ,forklift, bobcat , mobilift , inspection of harness do rigging study work under pressure and work with people and under people I have passport

Pros: I am a good rigger
Cons: Work long hours

Qualified fitter & turner

I'm qualified fitter and turner worked for anglogold Ashanti from 2005 to 2011 and joined lonmin I'm a dedicated worker. With mltiskill I have done boiler making skill.electrical skill. Rigging skill

It could do better by development its employees

The company is big and only focus on one gaol which is production. And yes I get it the main reason we start a business is to make money/profit. But I also think investing on young up coming employees will not only benefit the developed individual but also the company too. Most of my coworkers have been in the same position for more that 5 years myself included. No company should operate like that.

Challenging

Challenging area of work. Relationship with co workers were like family. IT environment proved to be always challenging and created a learning area. I enjoyed managing my own space, incidents and area. I could work under pressure and received great performance ratings year on year due to this fact.

Pros: Flexible, own management of time and pace
Cons: Due to specialist area, no opportunity for promotion

Working as a control room operator.Fully production.Very well spoken.Working shifts.

Control room operator since 2010. Beltsman and Foreman Hard working Working shifts Afrikaans Always hard working,and willing to work overtime. Friendly and hard working,and like to work with people.

Cons: Working long hours.Always willing to work overtime if needed

Excellent learning curve

Learned to have good work relationship between my colleagues and my peers. Learned to be a good performer and a believe that a problem must be sufficiently solved before it gets out of hand. Learned to perform well under pressure. Got the believe in empowering the people working for me, thereby creating a sustainable and high performance innovative culture.
