I have more than 20 years working experience. I am a qualified Turner by trade, qualified in August 1995 in Olifantfontein. I have Matric certificate. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering fron Johannesburg Technical College, B Tech in Quality from Technikon Witwatersrand, Diploma in Operations Management from UNISA. MBA from MANCOSA.

Good exposure and experience acheived
Working for Eskom Rotek Industries has opened my mind with regards to safety and all that one deals with in the workplace. The exposure of working on the turbine has given me the knowledge of the mechanical side of things. Working with a number of people in the same work environment taught me how to deal or handle different people of different race, age and gender. Working as a team and ensuring to watch each other back at all times, taught me that even though we as people might different views, there still things that bring us together without having to be different at the same time Unity is what i enjoy the most because even when things go a little difficult, we still pull together out of bad/ sad situation The most challenging aspect is when there is an injury, a serious injury because that alone takes everyone's morale down.

Excellent foundation
The company I work for is a huge SOC company with many coordinating divisions with one common goal, which delivering excellent customer service with integrity and Ubuntu. The company is very health and safety oriented. The division I am currently in is production division, where spares are manufactured , quality checks and delivered to customers in time. There are daily feedbacks as well as weekly feedbacks given to the authorities and customers for work progres In my work experience with the company I have learnt the importance of customer satisfaction which involves the meeting of delivery dates as well as keeping high quality standards. I have also learnt working under pressure but abiding to safety procedure. Team work and communication makes coordinating the projects and operations easier. The most challenging aspect is when we need to meet clients needs with limited resources.

Poor management
company does not care about its graduates, all they want is to get their BBE rating in order so that they can benefit from the government, all they care about is their big stomachs, they take in graduates without any plans to keep them in the company.

I have learnt to do the right thing first time
The work that are performed daily includes construction of internal roads, laying of pipes(water sewer and storm water) , building of dinning halls and ablution blocks and overall maintenance on site. I am very friendly which makes a very good relationship with my colleague but that does not mean disciplinary action won't take place if laws are not adhered to. I have learnt that in whatever you do on site should always do the right things on first time to avoid unnecessary reworks and expenditures. I also noticed that I am very patient to help someone in becoming effective which assisted the company a lot to reach our deadlines.

Excellent opportunities for individuals to initiate and drive own projects.
1. A typical work day: i get to my desk and attend morning meeting where safety and general announcements are mentioned. Plan work for the day,and attend meetings. 2. Relationship with co-workers: the environment here is very flexible, communication among co-workers is very strong, we help each other with projects, we share lunch and advise each other on a personal level. 3. I have learnt project management, accountability, team work, process optimization, data analyzing skills, Time and motion Studies. 4. I enjoy developing processes, simulate and analyse performance when under certain constrains. I enjoy working

Many oppotunities to learn
since i have arrive here i have been given so much training even on the systems that i hardly use. my Mondays are the most hectic but it becomes easy with people who surround me here they kinda easy people to work with, i have learn to work with different kind of people with different kind of attitude and attributes. I have enjoyed some of the system that i have introduce here to help with monitoring time. salary queries with other kind of guys is hard to explain to them what went wrong if their salaries have problem, in most case some even swear at you, but that is understandable since we working with different guys with different mind set.

Result driven and striving for excellent quality work.
Working for Eskom Rotek Industries has taught me to be result driven and striving for excellent quality work (doing it right the first time). I am now able to liaise with different departments and customers.
