I have more than 8 years experience in Logistics/warehouse environment of which 6 years was at supervisory level I am currently as a Transport Operations Supervisor for engen petroleum based in Pretoria where my responsibility includes but not limited creating orders / delivery notes on SAP, billing customers after every trip, route planning, briefing and debrief after every trip, customer service,HSEQ compliance and Fuel control, overtime and shift allowance,IR and HR management I am currently studying towards a Diploma in Road Transport Management at the University of Johannesburg

The experience that i get everyday on the job.
my typical day start by having coffee upon my arrival at work,then everyday at 9am we have our daily maintenance meetings.in which we discuss our plans for the day,and also check if everything that was suppose to be done the previous day is closed. What i have learnt while being here is that working as a team you can achieve greater things because on a building this big you realize that you always need to be your brothers keeper. And that i enjoy very much because even if i'm running late i can always call one of my colleagues to assist with my chores if i'm not on site yet. The most challenging aspect about the job is the hours ,sometimes you have to be here early ,and sometimes you leave at midnight.But we are used to it by now so its part of the job.
Pros: when people show appreciation once you finish the job.
Cons: people who always complain but no matter how you try to please them they never satisfied

Excellent learning curve
- Ensuring all communications is recorded clear, concise and keep audit trails. Receiving and reviews requisition orders from business, Release PO over the R50.1k >R 3 Million. Sending out Request for Quotation/Proposal to potential suppliers. Monitoring RFQ/RFP schedules issued by myself. Preparing and submitting regular purchasing reports. Maintaining a filing system of electronic and manual documentation e.g. Requests for Proposal, purchase orders, RFI’s etc.. Responding to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. Providing feedback on status of projects to requesting departments. Respecting deadlines, on allocated tenders. Maintaining a close follow up to ensure on time deliveries of purchase items/services. Approve suppliers in respect of service delivery, cost savings must be aligned to supply management. Leading a Cross Functional Team to achieve lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)

Great company.
People are great. More like a family. Working hours reasonable. Management not so great. Scared to make decisions. Pay and bonuses great but it also means that a person needs to do the role of 3 people.

Good learning curve
Good Company, management is very good. Freedom to work on your own no one is peaking ober your shoulder, nice intence working enviroument, constantly pushing and testing your problem solving and outside the box thinking

Great corporate experience
A typical work day was what you would expect on a corporate environment. There will be 1 or 2 meetings to attend. I had a good relationship with my coworkers, they taught me a lot as i was the youngest in the company I learnt numerous things such as fluency in english, being confident when presenting etc.
