Current economic climate places industry future on the balance

It has been a pleasure working in the petroleum sector. Most countries that have oil as a resource control the countries economy. The current economic climate is not an environment for indiviuals within our company. PETRONAS is the pwner, profits are generated from upstream operations and currently this is not a viable option. in order to sail through this storm PETRONAS needs to retrench people and cut operation cost throughout including Engen. The future is bleak.

I have gained experience in different sectors of sales I need through marketing different products. I worked for Bromor foods before it was taken over by Tiger brands as a sales rep, calling on Shprite, Checkers,Pharmacy, PicknPay and Clicks. I later joined Adcock ingrams as a sales rep calling on Pharmacies and doctors. Later joined ABI (Coca Cola) as an account manager calling on Shprite, PnP,Checkers ,independent retailers and wholesalers.gained.I have gained a wide experience by managing teams of merchandisers at the store level through rotating them giving instructions. Build sound relationships with in store sales managers and store managers ,

Safety,Health ,Environment,Risk and Quality

My job involves rotating around 3 depots (Bloemfontein, Bethlehem & Maseru). I enjoy the challenges that I brought about by my job. I get to interact with different people from these different group. Work related challenges that I have to resolve differ from one place to the next, which basically keep me on my toes. I have learnt a lot of management skills as I have to commence lead in terms of making decisions should the manager be not available on site. Also being an HSEQ officer has also groomed my leadership skills as I have to deal with contractors ranging form small groups of 3 people to a group of 15 people in a single site. This task involves a lot of critical decision making. I enjoy all aspects of my job including being in doors doing training, system implementation & maintenance, induction HEMP for projects and all other admin related tasks.

I'm currently working as an Engineering Technician in the Maintenance department for retail service station. I'm looking after an area of 88 sites reporting to a Regional Maintenance Manager. My working involves managing maintentenance contractors which are Electrical, HVAC, Civil & general maintenance to ensure job cards are attended as agreed SPA, process or approve job cards for payment & they charge as per agreed rate. Do quality checks to the work done by contractors. Draw or prepare scope for the planned maintenance work and CAPEX Project. Conduct on site HSEaudit to the contractors. Monthly reporting to Sales Team. Attend to quarterly meeting with the service station owners to handle complaints on contractor non-compliance.

Great company to work

I have more than 8 years experience in Logistics/warehouse environment of which 6 years was at supervisory level I am currently as a Transport Operations Supervisor for engen petroleum based in Pretoria where my responsibility includes but not limited creating orders / delivery notes on SAP, billing customers after every trip, route planning, briefing and debrief after every trip, customer service,HSEQ compliance and Fuel control, overtime and shift allowance,IR and HR management I am currently studying towards a Diploma in Road Transport Management at the University of Johannesburg

Exellent Learning curve

I am also doing my Honours degree in Computer Forensics at UCT (University of Cape Town). I would like to enter the forensics / Investigation world where I can learn from the best and show how passionate I am about this career, as I don’t get the opportunity to do so where I currently am. Preferably, If I can get an opportunity at your company, I would grab it with open arms. In retrospect, I also want to be a forensic analyst / manager with a difference and meet all my goals and achieve high standards in the workplace, with compliments of being fair and honest. Ethics and morals has always been a strong foundation from which I made my biggest decisions. This would be my ultimate and best opportunity ever and would like to embrace it and encourage you to please consider my application and I will guarantee not to disappoint.

My current position is a great place to learn thw job and pbtain skills. However, growth is slow.

Monday to Thursday I work from 7:30am to 4:15pm. However, I work overtime 3-4 days a week. monthly I work 40hrs of overtime. On a daily basis I oversee and supervise plant operations. This includes, chemical production, inventory management, plant team supervision, supervise grease decanting operations, packaging management. My co-workers corporate very well with the company requirements as a result that makes supervising the team a joy. In the past five years I have learned people management skills, Assertiveness, inventory management, production planning, HSEQ understanding, basic plant maintenance, hazardous chemical handling, basic fire fighting, basic first aid and plant supervision .
