Learning Curve

I work for the largest project in Gauteng, GORT(Gauteng open road toll), typical day is largely cost analysis, and enabling the project to be profitable, reporting results to the shareholders of the company, I have had the opportunity to be seconded to Vienna, Austria so as to receive international training, I have learnt vastly from my local and international colleagues. Most challenging aspect is the rigid deadlines in terms of budgets and forecasts, where we need to work long hours, and allowing stakeholders to understand cost cutting, in order for the organization to be profitable.

Pros: Opportunity to travel to Europe, to learn from the international colleagues.
Cons: Long hours

My days as an intern

When I get to the office,I already know what I’m going to do that day. I send out RFQs, get quotes, create purchase orders and communicate with suppliers. Our office is so vibrant, we have our ups and downs , but at the end of the day we are a small happy family. We work together very well and help each other out. I have learnt how crucial teamwork and transparency is in the workplace. I enjoy lunch times because we have an open area where we all have lunch and catch up. There is so much diversity and everyone is so friendly. It is a great environment to work in.

Pros: Good salary, great corporate culture, management and employees interact on a daily
Cons: Limited opportunities for growth

I learn more quicker or I am a fast leaner and pay more attention to details

I like working directly with different people, I prefer working in team than alone, I am very enthusiastic person and determination like variety work. I am a go getter, I don't like to wait for opportunity. .I go there and get it for myself or I don't seat back and relax. .I prefer to be around with people who have positive minds they can take you far and you will learn more new things from them. I always keep time, punctuality is very important in my calendar, when am late my day is finished or ruined. I always take my job serious and to be noticed by my superior.

Pros: Looking forward for this opportunity
Cons: Monday to Friday 8hours or eve weekends

I got certs in IT BTech Degree, IT National Diploma, ITIL V3 Foundation, MS SQL 20-461, A+, N+, Apple Mac, ICDL, MCDST , SQL 70-764 and currently busy with Foundation testing (ISTQB) I hope that you will look favourably upon my application by recognizing my enthusiasm and talent in the field. I would dearly like to further discuss the scope of the position with you in person, and would welcome the chance of meeting you.

Its a learnership hence I think Im earning this little but the experience is bigger than the salary

working in this enviroment is like being at school, you learn new things everyday,What I enjoy most is when I get to work to really work it makes me want to come back and do more cause I believe thats where my ability is shown where I get to prove myself and a typical work day for me will be going to work and actually doing nothing when asking to assist, they all tell you to relax its just too exhousting

Pros: they are many opportunities but you know where it all starts, it starts with you and how bad you want whatever it is you eager for it is a developing company
Cons: unfortunately working hours are consistent but I can deal with changes, 8 hours daily for 5 days its what I'm working now

Good company for learning new things and get exposure

Working for this company helped me to grow as person and helped me to understand corporate environment better. As project there was constant changes which also help me realise my strength of adapting to changes and moving with the time. Innovation was every day's topic since this was new company we had to come up with new ideas to help it progress effectively.

Pros: Learning and experience opportunities
Cons: Uncertainty about project future due public compliance resistance

It has been a great journey.

My typical day entails the global distribution of daily business operations and communication that each employee needs to know about the business operatives. I have an open relationship with employees and executives across all boards. I have learned to manage and coordinate corporate social initiatives and events, allocation of funding and admins associated with it. I am now more conscious of the BBBEEE requirement and Safety regulations. I enjoy designing and publishing posters, communication, strategizing on the current and best ways to effective communication and internal marketing. The most challenging part is getting your audience to effectively and efficiently give you feedback based on the culture of the business.

Pros: Great learning advantages
Cons: The business culture is none existant
