The need to introduce Succession planning and link to career path

City of Joburg is a dirvese and learning organization, that allows a person to learn new challenges. it a politically driven organization, it encourages you to serve your community well do the best and provide a good service to them. They need to look after the HR employees, people got the assumption that if you are in the HR department you are well-taken care, where it is the other way round. They believe External employees first.

Pros: Great opportunity for learning
Cons: There is no succession planning policy

Less Challenging

I have been a clinician and trainer for many years. I have do give developing cateries an exposure in the field. I work full day from 06:00 to 16:00.most of the time my hours are extended due to travel from one facility to another. Monitoring and evaluating staff performance and adjustment to placement in the facilities to ensure staff retainment. Prevention of litigations and to ensure quality and efficient care. Resistance of managers to receive corrections and implement relevant policies. Always projecting to shortage of staff. What I enjoy most is the confidence that the newly appointed staff display after induction and being agents of change to redress disparities in quality of care

Pros: Increased quality service delivery and reduced staff turnover
Cons: Stagnation and increased span of control

Excellent and good

i like working with hard working people than knows and understand what they want,some times its difficult to work other with other clients because of their lack of understanding so as a employer you have to explain and make them understand,and i learn how to deal with different and lots of people and to work under preesure

Excellent learning curve

? During his time as a Graphic Design Intern at City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality, Xitshembiso was exposed to the Group Communication & Marketing Department. Had the opportunity to work with the Digital Ninjas that ran the cities social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram & Youtube). The all-rounder experience helped me understand how all the components of digital design, communication & digital marketing strategy need each other to managing the image of the City and for public relations. I am a better Graphic/Digital Designer today because of the experience I obtained in the duration

Good learning curve

Its a very welcoming environment where team work is key. All employees are cooperative,they have good interpersonal skills and communicate very well with others. I have learned that meeting deadlines is important especially when submitting reports. There is a lot of work so it is very challenging because i'm working alone, but i prioritize my work in order to stay organised.

Pros: I have an opportunity to be permanent only if i work hard
Cons: I work normal hours

Great Personal Growth

Teamwork-We are always encouraged to work as a team and it has a good effect on productivity Problem-Solving-We are always given the opportunity to prove ourselves by making decisions without supervision and hence helps with growth and responsibility. Computer Literate-I was able to learn how to run some programs like MS Office after some in-house training program. Communnication-This was the most challenging part as my job constantly requires commication with fellow colleagues and clients so that the right information is conveyed.However with determination it became easily with time.

Pros: Great working environment,learning new skills daily,personal growth and improvement.
Cons: No room for career growth,promotion and recognition.

Excellent learning curve

Great relationship with the colleagues. i've learned lot of things especially the different investigative techniques and analytical skills. i enjoyed mostly to write a good and successfull investigation report and the presentation to senior executives. i also enjoyed the training of employees about the fraud and corruption/ anti-fraud training. The most challenging aspects of the investigation work is to interview a person who does not cooperate.

Pros: To meet with Senior Executive now and then and conducting prevention and detection reviews.

I have learned that hard work pays off

My duty was to load funds into smart cards, checking trip cards and attending to customer queries. We worked well with my team and I enjoyed acting as Supervisor when my supervisor was absent. We didn't have enough staff so I had to step up. Working with limited resources proved to challenging but we made it work. I have grown at personal and professional level.

Hard working

I have worked as HR Administrator at City of Johannesburg Municipality and through my work experience on carrying administrative/clerical related functions I acquired knowledge and experience with the following credentials: • Intermediate computer proficiency in all MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook). • In-depth experience in use of data management, report management, developing presentations, organizing meetings, customer service and logistics (Supply Chain Management Regulations). • Broad-based experience covering a full spectrum of administrative duties, including executive support, office management, customer care, database administration, documentation preparation, word processing, and minutes taking.
