My day-to-day tasks would be payments of invoices, attending meetings, scheduling staff to go on training interventions, ordering supplies, office and I.T. equipment. The staff as a collective got on well together (in fact we consider each other as family). I have learnt how to negotiate how to bring my message across without stepping on anyone's toes. I enjoyed what the branch stood for and how everyone believed in the programme. Challenges was when the Project Manager required support from a department within the City within 24 hours and the protocol was that we needed to tap into their service 7 days prior and I ensured that I always got it done for my Manager.
Pros: Diverse scope to grow and learn and hone your skill.
Cons: It's not easy to get promoted within the branch as there is quite a bit of bureaucratic loops that one has to go through.

A Growth curve
A typical work day consist of early morning coffee with the team, followed by a meeting to discuss projects and planning my day and try to coordinate the site meetings efficiently. We have an amazing team, we influence each other positively in terms of hard-work and staying motivated. Coming from an organization where I worked with a team of project managers, I moved into the team where I was the only PM and my team relied on me for Project management expertise. so I have learned to make decisions and take bigger responsibilities as now the whole unit depended on me. I enjoy the team I work with, the opportunities for growth and training that is provided.The most challenging aspects of the job are having to deal with consultants and contractors who are used to breaking the rules and take advantage of the client; when they encounter someone who ensures that they comply and they do things by the book, it causes much strife. I would say this challenge is where I would say I have added the most value.

I have learnet so much from this job
The great thins is that my work days are never the same because I like responsibility, so I would assist wherever I can, in that way I never get bored and I learn more. I have a great relationship with my co-workers, I this this is because most people are drawn to a hard worker, furthermore people do appreciate assistance at times. I learn so much everyday, Interpersonal skills, conflict resolutions and much more.
Pros: Great place to learn how the City works
Cons: Theres only so much you can learn and I want more

Exellent exposure
You gain daily exposure to areas of law which you would only attend to once or twice in practice. This enables you to fast track the gaining of experience. The department provides you with all the advantages of general practice, without the stress of chasing fees. It is challenging to understand all the relevant delegated powers and when which authority must be sought. The delay in obtaining required authorities is very frustrating and can be obstructive to finalise urgent matters.

Cons: Advancement opportunities are not readily available

Personal Profile: I am a hardworking person, I take pride in what I do and I am totally committed towards everything I do. I am trustworthy and have a no nonsense approach. To learn new things and meeting difficult people but that gives you a solid backbone
I'm working with files everyday to make sure that there documents are sign and filled correctly scheduling meetings for my boss and receiving and making calls. my mentors and co-workers they are too good for me and we have a good relation. I enjoy working with my team and dealing with new challenges everyday.
Pros: I would like to be promoted in this nature of business

Excellent curve learning
It is very challenging to work with a group of people, everyday you get learn something new and working as a team it makes a productive. I have a good relationship with the workers they are very energetic and always willing to learn something new everyday. what i have learnt working with them is the fact that they always have a solution when it comes to problem solving. The most thing that i have enjoyed with them is that they work hard in order to achieve they target that they have been given on a daily basis. The most challenging thing about working with them is that most of the time they stay absent some of them they come drunk at work,when it comes to being drunk at work and absenteeism is that you must discipline them before it goes further you must discipline in a way that you giving warning and dismissing some of the employees for poor performance. Disciplining someone you that they are bread winners at home is not easy its very challenging but you have to follow the company's policies.

Excellent work experience
i am enjoying every moment spent at my work, everyday its a new learning. i am exposed to all the sections of the branch and that has broaden my experience. i am dealing very well with my management team and the staff, we have developed a good work ethics and morals. I have learnt much on the administrative side og business as my section is managing admin functions, further more, experience gained on Water and Waste Water operations has broaden the scope of my experience. the most challenging aspect of the function is the interdepartmental communication that is lacking.

Major strength (Microsoft)
At Recreation and Parks: We take bookings for the park we give a booking sheet and person fill in the form and we submit them a permit. We file the booking sheets. I keep my relationship with my colleagues professional i communicate with them but nothing personal i discuss with them , I have learnt how to work on Microsoft Lync and how to do the bookings and submit the permits. When dealing with customers that are difficult.
Pros: Great opportunity to improve my knowledge and qualifications
Cons: Does not always have work depending on how busy we are
