Good learning curve

At basil read I have learned a lot about my work, mining, safety and people. Basil Read truly has wonderful employees, they stand together, support each other and care for one another. There is always places to improve and to learn new things, like the archive system or batch filling even when it comes to the people around you, each and every day you learn a new thing about that person which I believe is very important because the better you get to know a person the better understanding you will get how to work with that person as all are individually unique. I believe that the most challenging part is trust part in the system.

Excellent learning curve

Nasil read was a great learjing curve. The Company had very comfortable and welcoming environmemt. It embodied team work and growtg.. I was extremely fortunate to have been part of such a vibrant and healthy environment.

Sector struggling

Company has gone through hard times and new.job searches are being experienced. Have learnt a lot have been.promoted. after the staff reduction began I believe the wrong.people left and management became incapable to run efficiently

Excellent learning curve

The challenges was that I was exposed to being in control.I managed this site without a safety manager presence.I learned working on my own and managing health and safety on sites.I made sure the safety file was compiled by me and submitted to the client for approval.engagement with the external auditors to ensure safety compliance on site.

Job Satisfaction

At Basil Read Limited my normal job is to provide commercial support to all the site and drawing up Subcontract Agreement back to back with our Main Agreement with the Employer. The Company is very dynamic in the sense of mixture of old and young management structure, that on its demands to bring the best out of me. Major challenges is working with SMME subcontractors and services providers and requirements to educate them on contracting principles and ever changing statutory procedures. I have learnt a lot from the time i signed up with the BR particularly juggling between Fidic, NEC3; JBCC; GCC agreements on a daily basis as my job includes among other things, is to provide commercial services to all the divisions (mining; buildings and civil projects)
