I have learnt a lot over the years from the different executives of the various companies

The tender process happens in various phases. 1st phase is to go throuth the tender document, understanding the scope of works, specifications and the relevant conditions of contract. After these these have been analysed the process it to start pricing the job, using CCS. While pricing the buyer is obtaining the pricing for me for materials and subcontractors. While pricing I get the opportunity to go deeper in the specifications and the drawings and getter better understanding of the structures that have to be constructed. After pricing the direct works and the indirect works and updating the material and the subcontractors I sit in a meeting with management to discuss the job. The items that will be discussed are things like risk, analysis of the the pricing and after that the tender is submittedd

Pros: Management is willing to engage and wants to engage with Employees.
Cons: The company is going through a tough time and is currrently under business rescue

The most amazing experience

Coming in the office every morning feels amazing as you get to be challenged with everything that you will be given. We have a canteen which is also fantastic as we don't have to go out and buy food outside Every morning I absolutely love my cup of chamomile tea or green tea to start the day with calm nerves I have a lovely and good relationship with my co-workers, we work as a team and treat each other as family I have learned a lot in this company, I've grown so much and totally have full confidence in whatever I do or given. I know how to communicate very well with my co-workers and suppliers as well - communication skills has moved to a good level I have enjoyed the camps we went to as a company, family trips and team buildings, because it made us to be close more than ever. The most challenging aspects of the Job is when month end approaches and everything needs to be reconciled before month end roll over. it really tests your pressure skills if you can handle such pressure but its amazing

Multitasking, and dealing with people and banks on daily basis

Basil Read didn't have a stable treasury department. We were the first team to develop and centralized, all treasury functions for the company in one department . It was difficult at first to convince co workers and eventually, they understood that we were there to help each other and simplify our daily challenges at work. We became the financial escalation points for all department's, and a cleaner for divisional problems. The most challenging times we're when some requests would not be authorised accordingly, late submissions banking and insurance guarantee requests. Some department's not following the compliance requests as per legal mandates. It was exciting to allows be on my toes. Having to manage multiple projects at once. Dealing with people was exciting. Being a part of a team that works hard to add value was motivating.

Pros: Crossing most dormant offshore and on shore bank accounts
Cons: Delays in receiving requests back from bank and insurance companies.

Iooking for new challenge

I'm based in a fast past working environment with little to no room for error. We are a team of 7 people in operation whom all relay on each other to get the job done. Iv learned the hard way that in order to achieve a goal that it is best to do so as a team and that it is best to motivate someone rather than to demand excellence, as we all can't deliver at the same capacity. My biggest challenge is service providers and their lack of urgency with regard to delivery.

Pros: Having to do something you enjoy & benefits.
Cons: No been awarded the opportunity to further yourself & growth

Good learning curve

At basil read I have learned a lot about my work, mining, safety and people. Basil Read truly has wonderful employees, they stand together, support each other and care for one another. There is always places to improve and to learn new things, like the archive system or batch filling even when it comes to the people around you, each and every day you learn a new thing about that person which I believe is very important because the better you get to know a person the better understanding you will get how to work with that person as all are individually unique. I believe that the most challenging part is trust part in the system.
