Excellent learning curve

Working in the university of Johannesburg has been rather challenging but the experience gained is second to non. Studying while working has helped me learn how to cope with massive work loads and work well under pressure and also work well with others. It has boosted my self confidence and helping students further understand their module has brought me greater joy.

Pros: Teamwork
Cons: Workload

Reached my ceiling

I am an accomplished individual who has been at the UJ for 13 years and I have extensive experience in the field of English writing - proofreading, editing, teaching and learning, etc. My day is often spent dealing with students either in a one-on-one situation or in workshops, where the writing process and all its facets are elucidated and exercised practically. I relate very well to my fellow workers, and enjoy the interaction, but also like to work on my own, especially in light of the fact that I need peace and quiet to work. The most challenging aspect of the job is to deal with an array of different people and to be able to assess their needs within a short period of time - but this I have also mastered. I feel I have reached my ceiling here and am looking for greener pastures to spread my wings and fly further!

Pros: Great holiday times
Cons: Hard work and very little reward or recognition
