GREAT WORKING EXPERIENCE

Working for UNISA is great. Assisting Student everyday with their modules and registration. My co-workers are very good at giving training and we working closely as a team. I have learned to work with people and how to be patient. I enjoyed assisting students a lot and being trusted that i will good advise to student on how to take modules. The most challenging aspects of the job was understanding the modules and application process because as employees we couldn't afford to make any mistakes as we are dealing with other people 's future but once i fully understood the modules and procedures ,my job became very enjoyable.

Pros: EXCELLENT FOR PERMANENT POSITION
Cons: CONTRACT WORKER

My Unisa,My Learning Centre

My everyday to my place of business starts most likely at 7h30 and seldomely at 08h00. Its a lot of smitting handshake from eversmiling workmates, from the off loading zone of busses and mete taxis to lifts and escalators. My work reception is infectiously a happy beginning. Its tae while drawing my daily workplan infussing it with commom occurrances such checking and responding to emails, reading previously pasted reminders which will pop again once my desk top os awakened. Will peep into my supervisors office for office errands. This is my everyday learning curve as I will be inundated loads of works to meet for the coming six hours. I will sort errands according to order of urgent requisite. I enjoy what many find it time consuming and disgusting, that is meetings. Meetings are confluences of creative intuitive ideas, solidifying culture of organisation and platforms for new strategic adoption.

Pros: Everyday Area of Continuous Learning
Cons: None

Great environment of work

During a typical work week, one of my biggest tasks is checking in on my staff and assessing their progress on various projects. I like to meet first thing on Monday to discuss our priorities for the week, then meet again in the middle of the week to check progress, and meet once at the end of the week to discuss goal setting for the next week. I meet with smaller groups of my staff during the middle of the week to troubleshoot any issues. For example, during a recent mid-week meeting, I noticed one team was a few days behind on a long-term project. I met with the team and, together, we came up with a strategy for increasing efficiency among the team. Along with constant interaction with my team, I also attend a weekly board meeting where I present my department’s progress to the executive board. On Fridays, once all these tasks are completed, I make sure I have completed all necessary communication for the week via email and in person, and create a list of priorities for next week.

Pros: I’ve read about it on your website, and I think it’s a fabulous company. Not only would I get all the training for my role, but I would be on the fast track to be in executive role. That’s my top career goal. Plus, my ideal path would include working abroad for a couple of years. I understand that it’s of value to you to find people prepared to do so
Cons: Preparing myself and make sure all run smooth with jeopardizing my scope of work

The were great opportunities to learn

It was very challenging working with students having to deal with queries everyday and some students were difficult to deal with. But i am a patient person i can work under pressure and hard working person too. In my past work experience, I implemented a system to help organize the communication between my coworkers to enhance our productivity as a team. This helped us delegate tasks more easily, which led to earlier completion dates. I am self motivated, results driven and ability to work effectively and focused under pressure and I am keen to develop my admin career in your company.

Pros: I'm willing to grow in your company to be one of the executives
Cons: I can work overtime to reach deadlines

Good environment for working and studying simultaneously

My work involves a variety of roles and responsibilities; ranging from preparing study materials, preparing lecture notes, and undertaking my own research for publication purposes. A typical workday includes giving lectures, liaising with students and attending to problems and difficulties they might encounter. My relationship with my colleagues is cordial and we get along with each other very well. I have learnt the importance of being patient in life, as good things take time to happen. The part I enjoy most about my position is engaging with students and listening to their ideas and future plans.

Pros: Great environment to study and work in, allows opportunities to grow and pursue higher goals.
Cons: Only employ South African Citizens and do not consider applicants who hold Permanent Residence status
