Exellent in problem solving

I am an young lady who is currently working at University of pretoria as Assets Administrative Officer in Assets management. My relationship with my co-workers its very good in such way I even forget that their are my co-workers because of the bond and support we give each other ,we are actually one big family. What I have learnt in this department its working together and respecting each other and also helping each other in order to achieve one goal at the end of the day. personally I enjoy being in the tagging team because thats where i go to offices to help custodians with tagging their Assets. In what I do ,I dont find anything being challenging because I enjoy each an everything I do with my job.

Pros: Great opportunity for learning
Cons: fair wirking hours

Good experience

a typical work day is spent on focusing on the work at hand individually. The co-workers get along together and discuss solutions to problems if the opportunity for discussion is present.I have learn to be patient and cooperative in my field. i enjoy going to work every morning and be able to perform my job peacefully. Most challenging aspect of my job is climbing roof to do inspection.

Pros: More freedom at work

Perfect opportunity to learn and provides good work experience

I am currently the intern project administrator in the Information Technology Services department at the University of Pretoria. My role includes performing general administrative tasks for the project managers and team members as well as communicating key messages to the project managers, team members, project stakeholders and project vendors. Additionally, my duties include scheduling meetings, completing and distributing meeting agendas and meeting minutes, producing project documentation as well as financial project administrative tasks.

Pros: Good learning and growth opportunity
Cons: Not explicity or very mildly related to my degree of study (Informatics)

Good learning curve

I am an assistant lecturer at UP, its not a permanent job. I work 2 days per week, the nice thing about the job is that most of the time I work independently and I don't work long hours. But in all honestly, its one of those jobs I do to have some income at the end of month, its not what I want to see myself doing say in about 2 years time. My passion is using technology to solve finance problems or to bring tech solutions to a problem, in a Quantitative finance space. I hope one day I get an opportunity even if its just a year.

Pros: Great stepping stone for being appointed permanent to a lecturing position
Cons: Too much marking

Friendly work environment

The University of Pretoria Chemistry department is veryworker friendly and there is great equality within the department. The department offers everyone a chance to learn within their respective disciplines and I enjoyed learning new things in a work environment since this was my first job. I had a very good relationship withmy colleagues and we are trained to support each other at all times, thus making the work environment friendly, energetic and enjoyable. There were some challenging aspects such which I encountered from time to time with students, but this was mainly errors students were making in the laboratory that could put the safety of other students and theirs at risk.

Pros: Great opportunity for confidence boost
Cons: Student behavior

Working Day

On an average day I get to work at 8am and leave between 4-5pm. I grade the academic assignments and tests of the BCMP students as well as set up their quizzes and test questions. On select days, such as Fridays I also engage in teaching classes which include the physical examination techniques and taking a history from patients. I have an excellent working relationship with my colleagues and have strong interpersonal bonds with them. I have learnt to be a self starter, to work hard and do my best for my students. The challenging part of my job is that I don't get very much clinical experience which is what I would like to do and I'm not permanently employed. I'm currently working pro bono as I have not been able to secure a clinical associate post anywhere as yet

Pros: Great for experience
Cons: Not being paid or offered a post
