Exceptional study learning

The company is great, supportive and exceptional. The environment is diverse and people are welcoming and loving, which helped me to focus. The training is challenging (intellectually) but doable through Positivism.

Pros: great opportunity for promotion
Cons: fair working hours

Good cable building skills

Greetings I work in very friendly environment sometimes we don't feel the pressure of dead lines for cables to be delivered. Challenges only happen when fix some cable defects because some steps are irreversible. I like analysing cable data pack and challenge some decisions made to my suoervisor. The company does also electronic warfare controllers but I have not be invited to be part of its construction. I feel bad about that because I have ND in electronics but now I work in cable building department. I want to develop my skills of interest. I work with good people.

Pros: nice exposure!
Cons: not challenging

Teaching is part of learning

My job involved assisting second year students with Analogue electronics content. This broadened my knowledge as i received and answered questions from different bright individuals. The opportunity gave me a chance to learn and understand the subject even better.

Pros: Great learning opportunity
Cons: limited scope

Good environment

The University of Cape Town is a leading University in the continent and offers a good name on one's CV. The university offers good work - life balance and al. However, there are no opportunity for growth if you are not part of the academic staff. Our managers in the department can do better in leading the department.

Pros: Work in an environment that gives work life balance
Cons: No opportunity for further growth

Good learning experience

I really enjoyed the learning experience but was not paid for marking, extra hours and extra work. Mental health and general support was not provided by the university but was blessed to have amazing fellow tutors that assisted.

Pros: Good academic experience
Cons: Not adequate pay

Excellent platform for furthering my education

I was responsible for interpreting data gathered from field research; I would then have the responsibility of generating excel spreadsheets with said data. My knowledge of excel, word and other computer based programmes has improved considerably. I enjoy being a part of a leading research team in the field of developmental and clinical psychology.

Pros: Allowed for the building of relationships with respected academics, and it has taught me valuable research techniques.
Cons: The jobs I get are not consistent, thus I do not have a consistent income
