Excellent chemical engineering laboratory exposure

I describe my workplace as a challenging environment whereby I have to come with ideas and prove them. It a learning environment and it requires to be a team player always and always strive for the best. What i enjoy the most is different concept that i had proven lately in the laboratory and recycling certain materials and also cautious use of chemicals and other analyzing equipment's.

Pros: Great opportunity
Cons: Unavailability of certain analysing equipment.

Excellent learning curve

Typical working day will be Teaching and Learning, Research,Community Engagement, ICT Section Head and Supporting Postgraduate students (BeD Hons, Masters and Doctorate), The relationship with co-workers is outstanding as we work together and face work challenges together to achieve the best results. I have learned that as the leader I should walk the talk, support initiatives. open door policy and the subordinates will be free to approach my office in case they have difficulties in their working environment. One thing that I enjoy the most is when my team achieve the results in outstanding way by submitting the excellent result in time and take full responsibility of the services we prove for our clients. The most challenging aspects of the job is doing my utmost best even though there are limited resources to support initiatives and innovations.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Very long hours of working and huge number of students

Broadening knowledge and experience

- A typical work day It was business as usual, mainly dealing with registration of postgraduate students, creating a spreadsheet for all registered students and submitting to academic departments on a quarterly basis. -My relationship with coworkers A very fruitful one whereby we helped each other in order to reach the objectives of the company. There was nothing like "it's not on my job description ". - What you have learnt By always attending meetings with the Deans and HODs it helped me to overcome my stage fright. - What you enjoy most Working under pressure and being able to meet deadlines. Overcoming all the challenges I came face to face with. - The most challenging aspects of the job Having to process the supervisors and assessors claim forms although there was no stipulated amount given anywhere in all the policies.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion and to build oneself
Cons: While attending meetings they can take the whole 8 hours in a days work.
