Shoprite Reviews

Fast learner

I was working in the retail company. A company full of challenges and everyday was a different day in terms of different customers we had competitive store. We had a good close relationship with my fellow employees and united working as a team. And I learn to have get product knowledge almost everyday. Learning of to run different department or section at once. The most challenging part is whereby you find that the store blew shrinkage or running short and you as a manager must start doing investigation on what causes the store run on shrinkage after stock take. I enjoy learning new things things everyday in terms of product knowledge.

Pros: great opportunity to grow your career.
Cons: alarm call out during night.

Good in customer service delivery and sales recruitment

As the store manager I used to make sure that the store make profit compare to the budget.shelves always fully packed and nicely dressed. With the worker,I always used to tell them or coach that we have one goal to achieve and we have to work as a team to achieve those goals. And I have leaned a lot while I'm still there, how to grow sales, hygiene, customer service, receiving of stock, personnel and etc and I was enjoying to work with .customers and staff with one spirit towards our goals. The challenging point is where have to deal with difficult inexperience shopping customers. And sometime to you have to spend your own money to drive away to the other stores drawing stock as an ibt to your store without getting paid back for your travelling.

Pros: good opportuinty for promotins
Cons: out trips and not getting paid for.

Learning curves

I'm an employee at one of the Shoprite branches, the largest retail company in the country, I work 35 hours a week. It is a entry level job, I also work during holidays depending on my schedule. I do enjoy working their and I have learned a lot during my 2 year experience their. I know understand how retail stores operate and they manage fast moving consumer goods. The difficulties of working at shoprite, is that it get too busy during a specific days, mainly at the end of the month. Not all days are the same.

Pros: promotional opportunities
Cons: uncertain working hours
