Change of environment

I am the Branch operations Manager for Shoprite Checkers. I have hundreds of employees whom I manage, mentor and train. I enjoy working for the shoprite group, however I would enjoy a change of environment. The most challenging aspects of my job is the long work hours.

Do the best of my ability to everything I do

With my working experience at checkers I've learnt to work with cash as I was a cahier. To be more responsible and to take charge of a department as a became a controller. I was ordering stock, scheduling staff and doing stock takes. As a receiving clerk I learnt how to capture invoices receive stock and return stock. All and all as well as shrinkage loss control and left.

Excellent learning curve

Shoprite is Africa's biggest retailer. The company embarked on a digital transformation programme. The organization is underpinned by vast application and technology landscapes that are key to it's business operations

Pros: Great opportunity to practice and improve your skills
Cons: Brackenfell is a bit far out of Cape Town

Fast paced. Great relationships. Learnt to manage my time and administrative skills

I I work from 7:30 till 17:30. I spend my day managing stock levels. Communicating with Divisional managers to ensure they have the required packaging for their service level departments. Communicating with suppliers to ensure they have produced the required stock and share forecast to assist them with their planning and continually negotiate with the to get the best prices. I have great relationships with my co-workers and am considered a friendly likeable person. I have learnt have to manage my relationship with people internally and external. I have learnt have to manage time and my administrative functions. I enjoy the high paced environment and making a difference to the Group and customers. The most challenging aspect is the stress but have learnt how to manage this.

Working in the cash office during wirking hours cannot have much freinds due to the work nature. During breaks and after work I have a good eork relationships.. . The ability to work accuratly and under pressure.

Great experience

It Gave me improvement interms of customer service and exposed me to Sap system which is good experience in fincance field. Great communication with colleagues and team work. Improve accuracy and meeting deadlines and learn to focus on work being done

Interact with different people every day

Big company with different cultures to learn from. Lot of room for growth if you are a hard worker. Lot of career opportunities as is a multimillion company. The are many training you get from the company so that you can grow.

Excellent managing skills

Work at shop rite is very nice good people Very close relationship with co-workers Learned and still learning about good customer service Enjoyment must be the good vibe we all bring to work every day Most challenging aspect of my job is to go home because the time is to little at work

Great company to learn at - working in marketing gives you exposure to all areas of the business

I'm a dedicated, hard working and loyal employee. I enjoy working in a team but can efficiently work very well on my own. I work independently and don't need someone to watch over my shoulder to ensure my deadlines are met.

Cons: not much flexibility

Great working experience

I was working to pack and unpack goods, my relationship with my Co_workers is great, I learned to love my work, I enjoy working with different kinds of people, the worst experience I had was coming across toxic customers.
