I am in a very different industry for the first time ever since I started working as a Credit Controller and feeling so relaxed and cared for by my colleagues. I have learnt that a high salary is not important but the peaceful work environment. I enjoy the laughter in the office. The most challenging aspect is only on month ends when I have to leave huge unmatched claims due to incorrect claim numbers and or having a claims that have been raised incorrectly.
Pros: Good opportunity for me to learn how insurance companies work.

A typical work day, provide desk coaching to 2 insurance consultants every week, do evaluations on issue, complex and maintain normal amendments policies, including specialized policies and brokers appointments. Attend calibration meetings. Assist consultants with questions on excess, clauses, underwriting. Do callibrations amongst QA consultants. Give feedback to insurance consultants regarding progress of QA. Meet required targets. I assist the consultants to the best of my ability, also give regular feedback on their progress, include tips on the evaluations. I enjoy providing training and assistance most. Result is what drives me and seeing the constant improvement in the consultants. What I enjoy most is assisting and explaining the actual evaluation forms and what the different questions entails.

More exposure to career growth
I am an enthusiastic individual that has great interpersonal skills which allow me to work well within a team. Therefore, I believe that am a suitable candidate for any appropriate task that may be in sync with my qualities and talents. I do great in a team however, I produce excellent service on my own. I am a very friendly person and doesn't limit myself to the resources I have ,I believe in improvisation in order to fulfil my duties or whatsoever.

Great Client Experience Exposure
My typical day includes assisting client's with the registration of claims as well as updating of current logged claims. I hold a excellent working relationship with my colleagues as we share the same purpose of delivering a good customer experience as well as to ensure we work as a co-hesive working unit while at same time having fun During my time at Santam, i have gain valuable knowledge on my interaction with customers as well as the important element of Teamwork. The experience I have obtained has been the most enjoyable. The most challenging aspect of my job is dealing with irate clients. However through the knowledge and experience i have horned the skill of interacting as well as facilitating an irate client

Great learning opportunity and exposure
A typical day entails: Analysing and interpreting financial results on the subsidiary and group management accounts Processing journals on JDE and HFM (accounting systems) Preparing reporting pack for the parent company. Calculating the investment build-up per investment asset category and reconciling the balance to the trial balance. Calculating and proving the transactions and balances on the management accounts. Processing journals Preparing the subsidiary financial statements. Preparing the supporting documentation for the audit. Liasing with auditors. Coaching and mentoring junior staff members I enjoy the analysis and intepretation of management accounts. Team work is important and always strive to help collegues and promote cohesio I have learnt a great deal about the insurance industry. Handling large amounts of data and intepretating it.

Hard worker
I am a hard working person that takes pride in my work. I am always willing to learn new things and open to change. I also look for opportunities to improve myself as well as looking for ways to do my work better and faster. I am very positive and look for positives always, even in negative situations. Excellent learning experience
There is nice typical work day as every day has new challenges. Relationships With my co-workers is more then just business I would like to say we've became more like family. The knowledge and experience that I have taken with me is that hard work and good relationships always makes days go by without a struggle and what I enjoy the most of working working for santam in both departments is the good friendships I've built and always having the opportunity to learn something new. The only challenging aspects of the job is knowing the the deal /handle each account/client with the different individual attention that is required. But overall I enjoy working with people whether it be my co-workers or my clients.
