Great company to work for as a very reputable brand even tho I worked at a franchise of Old Mutual.. Growth is restricted When at a franchise you meet different calibre of people which is what j like the most as I am a very sociable person more of an extrovert and I can easily fit it with different types of characters and companies .
Pros: knowledge of the insurance industry

Learned to put client first
Working with people and working as a team helping each other and also being in a state of helping people (clients) at their best interest rendering intermediary advise making sure that they are happy at all times doing follow up has been a learning curve leading into having a good relationship with my clients.so that they may not look for anyone else but me to do business with. That has helped me in gainning more business by being referred by my clients to other clients.

Working as a temp
i have worked with old mutual as a temp for over 5 years now and these still no sign of improvement and i know that they do need my services and that i can go place if given the chance. i do not have pension nor medical aid and i do need to have such things.
Pros: its a well known company and it has been around for many years

Great job to polish your sales and negotiation skills
A days work would be to get sales appointments, close sales deals and prospect for new clients. I works with a very supportive team and team work is of great importance, as it produces good business. I have acquired more skills in sales, dealing with difficult customer and finalizing business deals. Prospecting and meeting new clients. Meeting the right people to do business with them.
Pros: Great opportunity in acquiring and polishing sales and negotiation skills.
Cons: Prospecting for clients of a specific target market for the area i am working at.

Know your clients
Talking about my bonus....i never reach my targets and we even had to collect the instal from our clients after disbursing the loan nd also we had 4 targets to meet a month with collection for me i find it challenging but i was doing and put my best because i was always half the target that i have to make a month..for me it was the best because i was always working to achieve something to show my what im here for. Whats is chsllenging is that,each and everyday we commit by two ppl tht will come do loans but most of the time thy keep postponing of which it makes a delay for a target of a day..to approach clients its my living its my thing my clients love me i always reach a target of opening cards...also to do a comparison btwn me nd my othr coleague is also nice because it drives you to work hard....and also to ask others how they do it to make thier targets nd also to assist you by calling and to do a different aproach than mine....it is very nice to work together its called a team building.

My aim to make a different clients,by making sure I advice them financially
U able to interact with different client,understand the importance role of advicing clients financial nd able solve any query,the most important is to reach ur target become a role model to your collegues,doing presentation to client is one of the easy thing to do,I'm very happy at old mutual,to experience something challenging for me it will be a good thing

Very hectic and fast paced
Highly pressured environment where every minute counts and every rand spent is critical to maximize the return. Very strong on development and growing people. Very strong culture - People are generally good to work with

Excellent opertunity to grow and excell in your job scope.
Work a full day, SLA driven. Worked very well with my colleagues, was very diverse. Went for lots of courses during my employment to equip myself. I enjoyed going to work because of the culture that we had in the office we were like one big happy family. The challenging part for me was managing the SLA, and having to have one on one discussions with my colleagues regarding errors that they made.
Pros: Great opertunity for promotions.
Cons: Because we were SLA driven we had to work lots of overtime
