This is one of the best roles in the entire bank.

Nedbank is one of the best companies to work for! The culture and level of exposure to the role is profound. On a daily basis, my work involves resolving VAT queries emanating from various business units across the bank e.g. scrutinising/probing transactions processed in the GL accounts and making sure that invalid invoices (invoices that do not meet SARS' requirements) are rescinded and necessary reversals are processed. Another interesting area is that of VAT on Imported Services, from experience, I know how inadequately knowledgeable are the Business Units on this subject. I "data mine" these transactions and liaise with stakeholders educating them on the severity behind their failing to comply with the legislation.

Pros: One can very easily become a VAT Spacialist or manager as, the role is inherently analytical and you cannot say you only go halfway and the rest management can resolve. you do it all.
Cons: Don't mind putting the hours especiallybecause i'm passionate about this role. You add value, either by avoiding penalties or pointing a colleague/department in the right direction.

Stakeholder Management - Excellent Learning Curve

Nedbank is a great place to work for. People centric and has a great culture. I have learned a lot about people management building relationships and stakeholder relationship management. Growth and career opportunities are evident. The challenging aspect is agile execution of innovation due to the organization being too risk adverse. I enjoy fostering relationships be with my colleagues or leadership line. A typical day is filled with meetings, brainstorming by the war room and following up with vendors and project deliverables.

Pros: Great workplace and culture
Cons: Remuneration structure grading criteria

Excellent Project Management skills, Administration Skiils and People Skills

Prioritise my day according to urgent deadlines vs. not so urgent Have an excellent working relationship with my co-workers and often being formally recognised by my team. Everyday for me as another exciting learning day. Most of all I have learned to built and maintain Talent Pipeline as well as how to head hunt for Executive roles Most enjoyable time is when I place a candidate in a role that skills and persona aligns with the requirements. Seeing both my client and candidate happy Recruiting for scarce skill roles in some of our Regions

Pros: Building long term relationships with both my clients and candidates
Cons: No further growing potential

Excellent learning curve

I am currently employed as a Regulatory Risk Surveillance Officer at Nedbank, where the core function of my role is to conduct compliance monitoring, providing independent assurance on the level compliance within all the Nedbank Retail business units. Previously, I was employed as a Risk and Compliance officer, still at Nedbank, where my core function was to monitor and provide oversight on the adherence to compliance practices within the business unit to ensure compliance risks are managed and reported. fil this role to the best of my ability, and would greatly appreciate it if I were to be considered for this position.

Pros: great opportunities and development
Cons: nothing
