Personal statement
I am a passionate and innovative young man that is always eager to learn new ventures. I am currently doing Application support at Massmart, where my role is mainly focused in providing customer service and service delivery from IT and all the business Vendors in the Supply chain space. Furthermore I have learned skills such as drafting documentation and process mapping with the aim of identifying and improving redundant workflows. Passionate in continuous learning and self-development, completed my Post graduate Diploma in Business management with Distinction. Through my skills, educational background and experience in Applications, I can add value to the team.

I have more than 10 years in a retail/FMCG environment.
NO DAY IS EVER THE SAME. I WORK IN A FAST PAST INDUSTRY WHERE THE CUSTOMER ALWAYS COMES FIRST. SALES, MARGIN, PROFITABLY, OTIF AND VENDOR RELIABILITY FORMS PART OF A TYPICAL DAY. I WORK WELL WITHIN A TEAM AND I AM ALWAYS UP FOR A NEW CHALLENGE TO IMPROVE MY WORK FUNCTIONALITY. I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT UP SKILLING MYSELF AND OTHERS AND HAVE MENTORED A FEW CO WORKERS WHO HAVE BEEN PROMOTED TO BETTER POSITIONS. THE MOST CHALLENGING ASPECT OF MY JOB ARE MEETINGS AND TIME MANAGEMENT. THERE ARE ALWAYS SOMETHING THAT COMES UP IN THE DAY THAT NEEDS PRIORITY. WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT MY WORK IS COMING TO WORK KNOWING THAT I AM PART OF A TEAM AND TOGETHER WE WORK IN HARMONY TO IMPROVE OUR CUSTOMERS EXPERIENCE IN OUR STORES. BE IT ON THE BEST PRICING,THE BEST RANGE OR ON THEIR IN STORE EXPERIENCE. I ALSO LOVE THE FACT THAT I AM ABLE TO WORK AT HOME IF THE NEED ARISES.
Pros: MAKRO looks after their staff and reward us on merit often. They have a wellness program that is company funded.
Cons: traffic to work is a nightmare.

Fear learning curve
The programme is providing me with the knowledge to understand the latest trends in the retail industry day to day store operations, the dos and donts of a retail business and retail management issues, and to apply this knowledge within the store I’m placed in. At the end of the programme I will obtain an Advanced Diploma in Retail Management. I enjoy the learning part of the programme being in class learning about the industry and its strategic ways to stay above the game and make an impact.

Cons: The fundamentals are not followed by every trainer

Excellent learning curve in a very dynamic and fast environment
My Time during the graduate program was spent at the Masscash division. On a typical day, I arrive at work, pull reports and then respond to support calls throughout the day. during periods where a system needs to be rolled out to stores, I am involved in testing.
Pros: Great learning opportunities, opportunity to be involved in many opportuities

Work hard and Smart
a typical day revolves around helping employees with queries, capturing salary input doing daily efts. I have a great relationship with my co workers we work hard and always find time to make sure we all doing okay. I've learnt how to better deal with conflict and employee queries. what I enjoy most about my job is the satisfaction of knowing everyone is happy at the end of the month. the most challenging aspect of my job is making sure all employees get paid on time with no errors and queries
