Excellent learning curve

Working for Macsteel has been a wonderful thing to me as I learned a lot of skills on how to deal with customers to ensure they are always happy and daily part of the business. The warm culture of the organisation really made me learn easily and better my knowledge as we are a team. The most important part I learned was how to meet customer needs and exceed their expectations.

Good pay and learning

It is a good company to work for, the pay Ovias it won't be good in this difficult times and u have to fight for an increase, but all in all it is better to get something rather done not getting anything,

Just about my personality and Career profile

I'm a young talented hard working man, very quick to grasp, started my career at Sappi as I did my training and obtained my trade test as an instrument artisan, went on to a much more exciting role at SANBS in a clinical environment as an instrumentation technician and I really enjoyed my work there, I then recently started a new path in sales industry which I believe is not really my strong point as I am more of a technical person. But at least I'm learning customer interaction skills. I personally enjoy working with my hands, fault finding, problem solving and wish I can get a job that's going to give me that exposure.

Growth opportunity

I have learned alot about myself and the company the past 3 years. I just don't know if there is any other growth opportunity here. I am a hard working person, I would like to grow in a company.

I do believe that with my procurement and technical background I would be a suitable candidate

I was a very well respected employee. I was also involved with contract negotiatio. my staff were always comfortable approaching me with problems, as they new i would handle them fairly

Qualified artisan

I'm trained to moster plant mechinaries, working with conveyor belts, conveyor chaines, bearings, rotating fans, shafts, various types of Velves, gear box, pumps and many more

Excellent learning curve

Due to restructuring within the group, half of our internal and external sales were moved. I am now busy about 60% of the day, which is not challenging enough for me. My relationship with co-workers are excellent. I am respected in the sales and marketing department and my co-workers look up to me. I have learnt that giving your all and taking pride in your work pays off as my line managers show their appreciation. I enjoy organizing events and receiving positive feedback from our customers with regards to the event. The most challenging aspect of my job is working for 3 managers, who all have different personalities. I would like to further my career in events and that is the reason I did a 2 year course to obtain my diploma in Entertainment Events Management, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Good learning curve

The work we do is mostly production arcelormittal supply wth steel coil and cut and supply companies dealing wth steel, the job i do is read jobcard on wht is requird for me 2 cut and balance the jobcard after cuttng what is requird,I hav learned a lot at macsteel because macsteel is is my first real job and i ve irrrived there as a general assistant and i worked my way as a machine operator but the problem is its a company with not much of opportunities for me 2 grow further than i am at the moment and i feel more exposer, its a good working place ofcos with good people,the most challenging is making sure that the material i cut is what requird by the jobcard
