Working at the Independent Developmemt Trust
The Independent Development Trust (Kimberley) has a total number of 21 employees. We are closely knit and respect each other. A normal day starts with a cup of coffee and reading through emails. Thereafter the duties of the day are conducted, a lot of travelling is involved in this office as projects that we do are implemented in and around the Northern Cape. I have learnt basics of Project management an my ability to work under pressure has been enhanced. I enjoy working as a team. The most challenging part of my job has been travelling in the biggest province in South Africa and working late hours at time but I have embraced it.

Excellent learning curve
A typical work day -There are times where it get busy that I can't even take lunch A relationship with co-workers -It's a small company so we all know each other and work together well. I have learned to work as a team. The most challenging part of the job was when I had to do packs for the meetings and the printer gives me issues on that particular day.

Good chance to grow
A tendency to have more work during the last 2 weeks of quarter closure. Other times the work is slow and less. Generally good working relations Have learnt much about the system development and everything surrounding that Do not enjoy much as there seem to not be much to learn Very little space to grow

I have excelled in my areas of responsibility and have grown career wise
Having worked for the Independent Development Trust , I have worked in an environment that teaches you to be independent and to grow. I was reporting to the Admin & Finance Manager and we worked with huge documentations of Programme and Projects ( whereby we were expected to file every day and manage the registry and the movement of files ) We had to liase with the Manager : Information & Records at Head office with regards to the archiving and retrieval of documents when it was audit time through Metrofile. I learned to classify documents as per the Minimum Information Security Standard and to apply reference numbers as per the File Plan.
Pros: a great learning curve and I mastered my responsibilities
Cons: working until late due to projects files that are requested by auditors

Excellent learning phase
It was good working with the Western Cape IDT team and have learned the time was working in the company. As the staff we were like a family. You would come in the morning maybe in low spirits but sometimes when you get to the office you forget about that challenged you faced earlier. As colleagues we helped each other if one needs explanation on how to do a task. Have learned other work from other departments for example I was hired as a Data capture but learned to do and Administrators work nd even acted as the Programme Implementation Administrator for a temporary period of time.

VO approval and budget adjustment is one of the most challenging aspects of my work
Liaison with the clients department on Management Fee outstanding matters or with service providers on matters relating to their outstanding payment, invoice related matters whether late submission or wrong calculates.Liaison with the clients department on Management Fee outstanding matters or with service providers on matters relating to their outstanding payment, invoice related matters whether late submission or wrong calculates.Basically i have a good working relationship with co-workes, Tolerance and respect is one of the best key in a work place since there's different people from different background and religious. When we are sharing ideas on certain projects that is are on Implemetation stage, you get to hear people thinking outside the box, coming with achievable ideas that we can even use in future on similar project.
Pros: Succession plan policy is been managed very well
Cons: The organisation is on the verge of closing down due to financial constraints

Learning curve
-8;30-5:00pm -work environment chilled -It is a good working environment however there is no much career growth and usually one relies on personal development for career advancement

Excelllent learning curve
a typical work day would include providing legal opinion, reviewing policies and updating case management. the co - workers create a beautiful working environment. It is always a beautiful day at work. most importantly i have learnt all about fundamentals of labour relations. I enjoy a typical day at the CCMA or kabour court.
