At company we communicate well with each other. We apply Team work most of the time with my co workers. I have ability to learn and grow so it was easy for me adopt and learn from them as well. Spirit of sharing ideas, accurate, communication with other in different levels. Every day was challenging. I had to multi task my work, working under high and be productive, meet dead lines. I have gained a lot and have enough knowledge in administrative environment which I can apply it in other companies when given an opportunity to do so.

Excellent learning curve, great opportunity to learn about other industries, networking

A great company to work for,a typical work day starts with writing a plan for the day which is derived from weekly and monthly plans. On a site visit day, I would fill in a travel plan take it to my manager to sign as to authorize the trip. Get to the project site inspect and evaluate the work done, have a talk with workers and their contractors. Write a report on the work done, grogress and challenges if there are any. If there is still time ,get back to the office type the report for the day and save. I have a great relationship with my colleagues,i believe that one should have such a relationship with their colleagues because we spend a lot of time at work. A work place should be a happy place that helps with productivity. I have learnt to be a team player. I have enjoyed learning about other industries and professions within the company. The most challenging aspect of my job is having to resolve or intervene disputes between workers contractors and community leaders .

Pros: great skills development, great opportunity for promotion
Cons: long hours,a lot of traveling

EXCELLENT LEARNING CURVE

I enjoy my work very much because I am learning different things each and everyday. There are challenges but the good thing about challenges is that they teach you to work harder than you usually do. My colleagues are always in case there's something I am lacking. They are so patient, loving and humble towards everyone. Making a progress in your field or duties encourages them to help you even more. I have learnt that the theory we acquire from tertiary institutions in not quite enough until you add skills and experience towards it. I enjoy working with my team to ensure that our tasks are accurate and appropriate and are completed at the right time. I also enjoy new challenges because I learn more from them. The most challenging aspects of my job is that it requires someone who's open minded and calm in order to avoid unnecessary errors.

Pros: Possibility of promotion
Cons: no possibility of being permanent

There is alwaus something to learn

My time at IDT has tought me how to effectively implement processes through planning, taking heed of the small things and balancing important tasks with targets. I further learnt the importance of clear communication between me and involved stakeholders in order to be efficient with the outcome or end result. I have also learnt to balance work and mypersonal life as this can be challenging in the supply chain industry.

Pros: high level of professionalism, high level supervising opportunities even to junior staff, effective planning
Cons: promotions are scarce, no job security

Thereafter the duties of the day are conducted, a lot of travelling is involved in this office as projects that we do are implemented in and around the Northern Cape. I have learnt basics of Project management an my ability to work under pressure has been enhanced. I enjoy working as a team. The most challenging part of my job has been travelling in the biggest province in South Africa and working late hours at time but I have embraced it.

Pros: Small working enviroment
