Excellent learning curve

I was working from 7 am to 6 pm if all employees have knocked off. I worked as IT Technician (Helpdesk) during the day and later checking my project progress and writing report for my daily duties. Everyone employee wanted to be helped by me even during weekend I would be on standby to assist with IT troubleshooting and network maintenance. I have learned to do IT training so that new employees know what is required and what to do in case of emergency regarding company assets. I enjoyed the work loads that kept me on my feet

LEARNING

Duties & Responsibilities • Microwave network planning, including air interface and service planning • Network integration • Responsible Huawei microwave product (Implementation and maintenance) in field of microwave transmission network in South Africa • TCP-IP Protocol and Subnet planning • Understand principle and able to implement inter-VLAN Routing • Implementing the VRRP • Principle of routing Protocol, Dynamic Routing protocol and OSPF • Deploying Routers(NE40E-X8A) and Switches on Telkom exchange • Citrix system • Router configuration (BGP,OSPF,MPLS,LAYER 2) • Support microwave commissioning,intergration and service migration • Migration of network • IP Provisioning • Site Supervision , quality control and coordination between Huawei and customers • Migration of RNC,BSC and MGW for Telkom

Great Company to work for

Huawei is a very big company it is all over the world. I have learnt alot of things here, how to be a team player, good communication skills and problem sloving reason being we work with customers and if the is something they not happy with it must be resolved immediately. I enjoy the most when we receive more projects from our client, I enjoy when i have to look for subcontractor, Organize material for them organize PO's and all those even the challenges that comes with it i do enjoy them because they make me think out of the box they make me break the limit. The challenging aspects are when the subcontractor doesnt do the right things at the customers premises and those are the challenges that has to be fixed within a day.

Pros: Since its a large company the are too many opportunities, but i do feel like i have been here for a long time now
Cons: I work overtime almost everyday because of a lot of work

Learning curve

A good learning curve in telecoms

Most challenging aspects of working in a Chinese company is communication problems due to language break down with the Chinese.However it's a learning curve and more knowledge when it comes to the networking principles..

Excellent company for entry-level

Good enviroment for growth and learning. Unforntunate that there is no permanent employment and you work rediculous hours. No perks or benefits. The Chinese are often in the office for long time. Some of them are even illegal immigrants into the country cause when emmigration dept comes they all disappeared from the office for days. Most of the things are done breaking the law

Cons: Long working hours and no bonuses. Company treats employees like slaves

Big company to work for

Big company to work for, lots of reporting levels. If you're a permanent staff you will get preferential treatment. Got to be persistent and self motivator. Lots of challenges to get information due to lots of internal control.

Pros: Great bonuses
Cons: It is long hours, lots of reportings
