CAPEX Projects learning curve.
Our department is Capacity Expansion under a division Turbo Gen Services. The team consist of 5 Project Managers, me as a Senior Accountant Projects and the HOD managing CAPEX Projects to the value of R1.4Billion. We review projects weekly with an individual Project Manager. Identify Risk, threats to Budgets. Then come with mitigation measures. We also forecast activities that will occur in the current week, month and future months. I also review financials weekly giving me time to fine tune reports to meet my 5th day month end report deadline. The main challenge I encountered was to write a Position Paper for Property, Plant and Equipment. I have a healthy relationship with the HOD and Project Managers. We've develop friendship with some Project Managers. I've learnt to manage CAPEX Projects as was only used to OPEX Projects.
Pros: Good Projects environment to always be alert.
Cons: Executive moratorium not to renew Full Term Contracts when they end.

What i have learnt
as a project coordinator at Eskom Rotek Industries I have learnt to work under pressure because since day one with this company I work on multiple projects at a time, that means I work with different people/clients at a time and through all that I have learnt to keep a good working relationship with clients

How to handle pressure
To handle pressure.To be a team member.Communication is the key.Reporting to the section leader or foreman.Working safely and reaching targets.Reporting any or all unsafe acts.

Best learning curve
We where doing construction work and I was compiling reports for different sites and all incident reports also inspections on site auditing small contractors on site to check compliance .the relationship with employees or co workers was an open communication to avoid incident to happen ,I've learnt that being humble and respecting all kinds of people it's best .the most challenging aspect of the job was working on live line on working on a submission time or when the client I enjoyed my work course it taught Me to deal with all time of people and deffeferent peesonalities

My Recruitment Abilities
Recruitment is like my everyday to do. I am able to manage recruitment process from begining to end, Drafting of Advertisement, Placing of Adverts, Interview Arrangements, Inviting candidates for Interviews, Preparing Interview Pack, Making Venue Booikings, Flight and Accomodation Booking where required, Medical and psychometric Assessments, Offer Management, Providing Administrative services to HR Team, I love to work with people, and always making sure that my clients are satisfied. while working since as a learner i have learnt how to be profesisonal in the work environment and how to work effectively and efficiency and with chalenges i have face i can say right now i know how to deal with a difficult customer, frustrating person etc.

Excellent learning curve
-Qualified Electrician with in plant maintenance environment with a very strong electrical background that ranges over 5 years. -Experienced in all aspects of electrical operations with transformers and pumps. -Highly meticulous and reliable with an outstanding service record. -Adept multi-tasker able to handle a number of functions with professionalism and accuracy. - Strong research skills in optimizing team operations.- Effective communicator and motivator who identifies and leverages assets in teammates to reach organizational goals.

Great learning experience
A company thay deals with civil and electrical work for Eskom. We have a very small office in Cape Town which therefore makes it easy for us to have a gpod working relationship and understanding each other. I have learnt through this experience to take what you are given and run with it. What I enjoy is always learning more everyday as civil and electrical work were not my strong point before this. Challenges are trying to break a male dominated company. Every day you have to keep proving your self and always standing firmly in what you believe in.

Very excellent working curve
It’s good working at eskom rotek industries as I’ve started as an apprenticeship until I qualified as an mechanical fitter and also enjoyed bein around the company a lot because it was easy working with everyone at any department also you would feel if you’re absent from work while busy with other personal staff like family matters but overall it was a nice experience at eskom and I’ve enjoyed my years there as I’ve made lot of contributions to the company and made friends who didn’t want m to leave after my contract expired with the company,I’ve learned o lot of things at eskom as maintenance,refurbishment,assembly,disassembly,measuring with different measuring equipments with an eye of supervision

Excellent learning curve
Good working enviroment with plant operation and daily inspection with physical plant walk. Excellent daily communication with all relevant parties via radio. Reporting of any deffects and plant status on daily basis and logging them on Opsuit.
