Rotek

Working at Rotek is a new challenge and I find the job very easy compared to what I was doing at Sasol as an electrical technician. The project I am responsible for are mainly mechanical components from Eskom power generation stations and this is something very new that I am adding to my work experience. The most challenging aspect with my job is mainly the culture and business systems used to support what I am doing as a project manager; somehow I feel there is room for improvement. My salary is great but I do not think long term this where I want to be.

Incident report writing

I I had a great time in the company bit there was a day where someone got injured and I had to write a report for the first time stating out the root cause of the incident and recommended of the corrective action and also mitigated the risks for them not to take place again, it was a great experience

Many oppotunities to learn

since i have arrive here i have been given so much training even on the systems that i hardly use. my Mondays are the most hectic but it becomes easy with people who surround me here they kinda easy people to work with, i have learn to work with different kind of people with different kind of attitude and attributes. I have enjoyed some of the system that i have introduce here to help with monitoring time. salary queries with other kind of guys is hard to explain to them what went wrong if their salaries have problem, in most case some even swear at you, but that is understandable since we working with different guys with different mind set.

Current day to day duties

urrently working as a qua working as a quality Controller for a 400kv transmission line. Responsible for the implementation , maintenance of the quality management system. Responsible for daily inspection of excavation , concrete casting , complete foundations setting out, structural steel assembly and tower erection, stringing and regulation of conductor. Professional environment

Eskom rotek industries has a professional working stuff, a typical day starts and ends with dedication and hard work. Ive learnt a lot from the ash dam/dump stuff and ive got a lot of knowledge on ash waste management.

Growth opportunities

II have been in corporate for almost 20 years. I have learned a lot and do have a lot of expewrineceI am not able to see the text nor am i able to view what i am typing. I thingk there is sometning wwrong with the feature.
