Good company to work for
Typically I come in and check my emails for any queries that need to be resolved for either the technicians or suppliers. There I will process PRF's for projects that have to be done by our service providers. Process any invoices for work that has been finished. Run reports for open orders and liaise with the suppliers on what is outstanding on either phone, email or face to face meetings. As a team we work well together and trust each other enough to share both work related and personal issues. Even when one has an issue we are comfortable to sit and talk about them. I enjoy being able to work with the suppliers and our customers. The most challenging part about my job is having to deal with people who are not willing to listen even when they are wrong.
Pros: Good work-life balance due to flexi time
Cons: not much growth can be done if in certain departments

BRAKE DOWN OF MY DAY AT WORK
Very busy environment. A typical work day would include receiving , checking of records, electronic scanning to SAP and Share point, referencing , filing, queries and sometimes conduct audit trails. Have learnt so much and have trained all new recruits. I enjoy customer queries as I love searching for the records and pleasing our internal and external customer at the end of the day with correspondence relating to there queries and document trail, or physical records. The most challenging aspects for me is to finding records before my time in the department u work for with no audit trail that is not known if it was received or not or the customer don't have sufficient details or info. I find it challenging but yet I enjoy the searching and tracking and always manage to find what they are looking for.

My Review for my work at Engen Petroleum I will highlight what I enjoy doing and some challenges
Since I took this position of HSEQ Coordinator I enjoy teaching HSEQ officers and staff general about health and safety issues. I also coordinate meeting for behavioural safety program which gives me opportunity to get to know views of other people about HSEQ issues, I enjoy these sessions because they help me to grow in other areas of my career for example listing and respecting to other peoples views. The working environment is very dangerous here so it give me no chance to be ignorant because a little ignorance can cost someone's life or even damage to company assets which could have negative consequences to the company reputations and financial performance.
Pros: I enjoy working for this company and is one of the major employers i have came accross in my personal growth, there reason i want to leave is purely for growth and learning
Cons: The company is big and travelling is accessive but this is one challenge which hinder development on education side of things.

Good
I manage maintenance processes for retail service station which include Electrical, Refrigeration, Civil, Pump & Tank installation using the services of nine contractors & Engen CSC. My Area consists of 88 service stations in the Gauteng South West Region. I provide support to a Sales Team of four Area Managers & one Regional Sales Operations Manager. I have been working for Petroleum industry for eight years, gained an extensive experience in contractor management, Capex management which includes tank installation/replacement, HSEQ & incident investigation. I’m familiar with tendering processes & have been involved in projects with a maximum value of R4.5m.

Current economic climate places industry future on the balance
It has been a pleasure working in the petroleum sector. Most countries that have oil as a resource control the countries economy. The current economic climate is not an environment for indiviuals within our company. PETRONAS is the pwner, profits are generated from upstream operations and currently this is not a viable option. in order to sail through this storm PETRONAS needs to retrench people and cut operation cost throughout including Engen. The future is bleak.

My current position is a great place to learn thw job and pbtain skills. However, growth is slow.
Monday to Thursday I work from 7:30am to 4:15pm. However, I work overtime 3-4 days a week. monthly I work 40hrs of overtime. On a daily basis I oversee and supervise plant operations. This includes, chemical production, inventory management, plant team supervision, supervise grease decanting operations, packaging management. My co-workers corporate very well with the company requirements as a result that makes supervising the team a joy. In the past five years I have learned people management skills, Assertiveness, inventory management, production planning, HSEQ understanding, basic plant maintenance, hazardous chemical handling, basic fire fighting, basic first aid and plant supervision .
