Very lucrative learning experience.
During my time with Distell, I performed stand in functions for the warehouse coordinator at the time for almost a year. I performed all the administration, dispatch, receiving, HR, inventory as well as any requested Ad hoc duties requested. I also managed an offsite warehouse rented by Distell for 6 months. There I was a one man woman team and did everything, from dispatching, receiving, to stock control, as well as the entire running of the operation. When our lease expired, I left the warehouse with a zero percent variance as far as stock loss was concerned.

Excellent working environment
I'm a qualified and registered electrician. Currently working for Distell as a shift electrician. I do planned, preventative maintenance, fault finding, attend to breakdowns and installations. I currently work as a shift artisan that's coordinating with the team leader and operators helping operators set up their machines. Identifying problem areas as well run for day shut and daily routine checks on start up. I enjoy working in a team because by working together for a long time you end up knowing each other and it helps on problem solving. I learnt a lot from the maintenance and operational aspects.
Pros: Good learning experience
Cons: Little or no career development

Excellent learning curve
I have covered all areas i needed to know. Now it is a repetirive things done on a daily basis. people are of good characters with diversity culture since it mixes different group race. Companh is a big company with people who are still young and childhood still a concern.

Innovative, leadership and commitment
I am a self motivated Male, with excellent leadership qualities, I work very well in a team, I meet deadlines on time, I motivate my team yet strict when it comes to meeting KPI's I have recieved inhouse training on Industrial Relations.

Excellent company to work for with exciting learning opportunities
I like working for Distell but my problem is the Distance i travell to work, i drive 45km to work and another 45km back every day and the language they speak on site is strictly afrikaans even on emails so it's a challenge for me because i do not fully understand the language.

Excellent Culture
Distell has a great culture and strives to be a high performance company. I have learned the importance of networking and customer relationships in a very volatile market. I enjoy working in the sales environment because I have a passion for people and it gives me the opportunity to meet and interact with many different people.

Looking to get back into accountant industry
Distell is going through a restructuring. Instead of being retrenched i were offered to procure to pay coordinator position. I took the job with the hope of future growth opportunity, but with Distell going into the next phase of restructuring a might be in the group of people up for retrenchment again. My passion is doing accounting and taxation work and my current position is fulltime data capturing

Conservative company
Typical large company. Unfortunately many restructures have led to mistrust of the employees of management. To get anywhere in Distell, you have to be an ex SAP employee. Also, an abnormally large percentage of new employee placements are ex SAB
Pros: You get a liquor allowance as part of the package. Good work life balance
Cons: Annual increases are ridiculously small
