A learning Curve

My duties include (but not limited to provide administrative support to the Assistant Director, implementation of cooperate communication in the district. Effective management of corporate publication and stakeholder management. Handling media enquiries, draft media responses, create promotional activities, production of marketing materials. Prepare for press release branding and exhibitions, events preparation and planning and social media marketing

Learning curve for me and my career in administration

Compiling of Financial Statements,Expenditure reports for Early Childhood Development,Social Clubs and Old aged homes. Capturing and Invoicing of monthly subsidies for Early Childhood Development,Social Clubs and Old aged homes. Compiling of 30 days credit report,invoice tracking,expenditure report and monthly cash flow report for the Department. Supply Chain Management Outsourcing of Quotation to different Suppliers Compiling monthly Open order and Irregular reports Compiling/Calculating Evaluation Criteria reports Acquisition of Goods and Services

Pros: Working at the Department of Social Development was an career opening opportunity for me,because i was exposed to different sections of the Corporate Service and it gave me a better understanding of the different sections.I got exposed to Finance,Supply Chain Management, Asset Management and Human Capital Management.
Cons: Working there was always a challenge because of the work load in terms of meeting dead lines

It was a good learning curve for me.

It was a good working environment for me as I have learned as much as I can as a admin clerk intern. I know I will be a valuable person in any company that will hire me. I was also having a good relationship with the NPO section since I spent most of my time helping them with Claim form&filling.working hours were fine. The most challenging thing was chasing deadlines especially when is December time.

Pros: The was promises for being hired.
Cons: Working hours were OK for me.

Satisfactory

I am young and acitve i alwayd ask where i dont understand ilke to work with team but i can manage to work individually when the duty calls. I have learnt a lot from my co workers firstly i learn that inoder to work differently you have to love your job and respect others in the organisations whether its your bosses or colleagrs and secondly if you are working with people you need to be presentable and have integrity. The challenged i faves is that there is alot of pressure to deal with other childrend and when its hard to throgh with other clients those are the most demanding aspects in our organisation. For me at at work its be a pleasure to help others get through with their peoblems and i also manage to work under stress with no bad influence in the organisation.

It was a wonderful learning curve

I was working as a intern admin clerk, I was doing typing, faxing, scanning, photocopies,answering calls etc. I had a good working relationship with the staff as I was helping them with their files most of the time& I have learned a lot in terms of dealing with different types of people. Also on how to handle difficult clients since I was working close with Social Workers. At first it was difficult to work with large number of people but as time goes on I manage handle such pressure.

Pros: Great Opportunity for me to learn new staff

Great learning curve

We would go out to the very poorest townships in Gauteng and do house to house profiling, at some houses you would find community members that are unstable and sick have nothing to eat and you as an employee should come up with a way that can help them. We worked eight hours sometimes we would be asked to come assist on weekends with disaster management. We worked in groups or pairs to look-out for one another as some of the townships were dangerous, my greatest enjoyment about my job was to see people being help by us like putting the food on their table. The most challenging part about the job would be the weather forecast it will make our work very difficult to work under those rainy conditions n windy streets.

Cons: unpayable overtime

Excellent platform for work experience

I have learnt mostly about professionalism and being effective, I enjoy working with people at all levels and tackling work under pressure. Have excellent working relationship with my co-workers, love working as a team. The most challenging aspects is working with people who do not cooperate.
