Informative in practical work

My employment was a research and development programme that was done at the department of chemical engineering at Cape Peninsula University of Technology. My main duties were to synthesising aspire and the conveying ethanol to hydrocarbon- gasoline range fuel. In the course of my working I had the opportunity to interact with my colleague's which enabled us to share ideas and solve problems. In that regard it equiped me to work with others and being able to independently handle huge task and finding your way around how things are done and improved think ability. What in enjoyed the most was the application of what done theoretically to practical. The challenging thing that if something went wrong I was the one responsible for it, but that helped a lot in respect to work under pressure and discipline

Pros: Analytical skills
Cons: Long working hours

My Experience with CPUT

Working for CPUT has been one of the most exciting journeys i have ever embarked on, the environment is conducive enough to be an encouragement and the environment is a healthy one. the institution has taught me amongst many things, responsibility, dedication and independence. I enjoyed and still enjoy transfering my skills to my students. one of the most challenging aspects in the job like any other Job is time management, especially when it comes to disruptions and strikes, if one is not prepared for such things in time, they run a risk of having to work overtime as a result of that.

Pros: Positive Environment
Cons: Contracts

Opportunity to gain experience in exposure to technical innovations.

Following the same procedure every day can be boring at times but it does help me to understand the importance of abiding by the rules. People who appreciate your efforts are a motivation and this create an effective communication talent amongst us. Teamwork and planning will always bring about solutions to any problem. I really enjoying trying something new. The most challenging thing is to be around people who speak the language you're not familiar with.

Pros: I am prepared to do anything that will benefit the company and boost my confidence in the industry.
Cons: I am looking forward to do whatever it takes to make sure that all given tasks are up to standard. Working shifts and overtime wouldn't be an issue.

Working together is far greater than working alone

Working in the Business faculty is alot of fun/hardwork. Working in a team has made me realise that everything that's needs running smoothly needs the proper communication channels in order to reach a specific project. I' have a believe that you only live once that is why i live everyday to the fullest mean it i be happy for no reason that's me. I get along with workers a little to much. I can tell cause they start opening up about their personal lives and even trust me with the personal details. I like to make people smile cause once they can put their problems aside and focus on work we can all enjoy the achievement at the end of the day. I have learnt that people are only human and won't always have your back but that is why you need to believe in yourself so much that at the end when things don't work out the way you expect it to be you can thank them instead of having to despise them. Every day is a challenge at work but that's some of the things i live for.

Pros: I'm open minded and an opportunist.
Cons: I'm still young and enjoy working . Maybe not long hours but definitely count me in to work on a weekend

A good place for grouth

Working in there is good. It's a good place more like a family that cares for staff not only for the work they do but also ensuring that u are comfortable and happy with what they do.

Pros: Opportunities open for people who wants to grow
Cons: Normal hours depending on a person if he/she wishes to do an overtime then no one will stop them.

Working with students is interesting

I work with students under the supervision of the first year student coordinator. Duties are based on a schedules time-table, practical times and meeting times are planned. I enjoy teaching and marking students assignments. The students are always ready to learn, carry some weak students require extra attention which i try to give with the student's cooperation.

Pros: An opportunity to impact knowledge to the upcoming young learners
Cons: Preparation is needed
