Great place to work at and to gain a lot of experience

Good communication, good working environment to work at. Learned a lot from there. Got involved with the works, attended breakdowns and got good results.

Pros: Great place by the looks of it. Want to get more exposure and prove that I'm a really hard worker
Cons: Work overtime and standby

Excellent experience and skills

Arcelor Mittal it is a good company that pays good salary and offer good experience or multiple skills but not fair on promotions ' whenever there is a vaccant post or someone is upsent they use learner's to balance menpower until the post is freezed or being closed totaly ' meaning working with incompetent people while you are competent put your self at risk because their lifes are your responsiblities to make sure they dont get injured ' when the is incident always they law change to protect name of the company. They put blame on someone and corruption is too much on management and union .

Pros: Lack of promotions and career development lot of union issues
Cons: Balancing men power with production learners instead of appointing .

Maintenance

Coal&Coke Oven Plant is the most biggest Section in Arcelor Mittal with a lot of Machines,Technical staffs The normal working hours for artisans during the week is 9.6hrs and on Friday 6.6hrs depending on the job of the day.If there are breakdowns then we have to leave when the job is finished The Artisans work together with their Technicians and the Apprentices in order to push the production As a learner you learn more things, because they treat you as equal to them The changellenges that you face, are the weather challenges because, you plan the job of the week on Monday, and if it rains on Wednesday and you were supposed to work outside...then you have to reschedule your job which delays your time, energy etc..

Pros: jtjrdbhhjrsdnj
Cons: 9,6

Best training exposure, in all trades

Arcelor Mittal is a very good company to work on, especially when you are still new in the industry, the exposure you get is more than enough to help you qualify. I am fortunate enough because I get all with everyone around me that makes my job more easier and the guys around me they are happy to help me if I should get any difficulties when performing my everyday tasks. I enjoy the fact that there is always something to work on, and every week you are likely to get something new to do or manufacture.

Pros: Good exposure gained every day.
Cons: Salary

Good learning curve

I built a very strong relationships between me and my colleagues and it has realy paid of by learning everything they know about work and even though it is challenging to do maintenance on the plants but I find my self learning everyday on my job and that's the part in like most about it, as I am working mostly with older people in have learnt that no matter of how big your responsibilities may be , you must always try not to let your personal problems affect your work as that is very dangerous for you and your colleagues because of the work environment and the dangers of it , it has been a great experience to work at this company

Pros: good working hours
Cons: further learning discourage

Insightful

Working at the mill(5stand) was very insightful and fulfilling when it comes to both the electrical and mechanical aspects of being a millwright, I was exposed to experience that is undeniably the best in a plant medium. I worked with ac/DC motors, sump pumps, accumulators, various types of valves and drives.

Pros: Challenging environment with no hope for promotion
Cons: Lots of overtime work
