I am a hard woker , a team player open to new ideas and willing to learn new things
i enjoy working at my current company my typical work is programming and assisting operator on the control systerms, my relationship with co-workers is healthy and good i sometime have defficult with my managers because of the plant and operational knowlegde , ive learned alot in his company my management skills, being responsible for a department helped me alot into taking things in to my hands my challenges are not on the job it self but is on the people more the managers because of the plant knowledge.
Pros: I enjoy working here i dont have limitation on my job and i can do my job in full
Cons: The long working hours is not a problem for, because when i work long hours is a sign that there is something i m doing wrong during my normal working hours then i need to improve on it

Maintenance and repair
Daily routine at Afrisam started wirh early morning meeting ,then maintenance on conveyors, screens, crushes ect. In case of breakdowns, that gets priority. Relationship wirh co workers were good, assisting with boiler and fitter work. Futher educate myself by attending courses like Supervisor Developnent. Enjoying challenges to fix problems quick and sufficient so rhat the plant can run when under pressure.
Pros: Opportunity to educate yourself further
Cons: Trying to keep the pumps running in the raining season

Interesting and challenging position
Capex: projects and capex planning Monthly budgets SAP reports for maintenance and production Create planned maintenance (PM02 and PM01’s) Machines and plants Inspections Audit Quarry and plants (Fixed and mo Conduct regular audits on all equipment Meetings to discuss service, Feedback, Safety and Sales Generate parts and service sales Follow-up (expediting) of audits and orders Conduct operator and maintenance training as and when required Troubleshooting and technical assistance Disciplinary enquiries Build strong relationships with our customers

Afrisam is a great company with high level of growth
Busy day all days. Working with people of different age group with a wide range of literacy level. I have learned strong people management skills as well as effective cost management. I have learned to prioritise business interest over personal ones whist I'm at work

The company has taught me how to be at my most efficient to obtaining goals and targets
I have extensive knowledge of the SHE field and have excellent people skills.I have all the required courses pertaining to the SHE field and am in the latter stages of obtaining my NADSM via UNISA.I am person with strong moral values and a high sense of integrity.If awared the opportunity, I can most certainly gaurantee that I will be a highly valuable asset to the Organisation.

My learning expirience
Review the history of the equipment and daily check ups We get along just well i sometimes help them in completion of their work if i have completed my daily tasks in time I learn a lot about maintenance (preventative, corrective and engineering performance reports) , project management creating scope of works, SAP PM and electrical equipment, team work. Project management especially during the inception stage where we go through designing, calculations and drawings to actually decide on the final product I find it hard when i do not have someone to help me when i have problem completing my work

Gained alot of knowledge
The work is great but can get hectic, the people are friendly. I learned a lot about cement and engineering. during kiln stops it is very cahllenging as everyone including contactors are all busy.

Work day review
Typical Day - 1st check for emails that are urgent or important, continue on with projects. assist users where needed Relationship with co-workers - very comfortable and open Leant - over the years have learnt how to deal with many difficult situations and how to work under pressure, meet dead lines Enjoy most - the freedom to make decisions and see a project completed and operational Most challenging - having to manage a geographical out lay of the business and handling many challenges simultaneously
Pros: your time is your own and to be managed well
Cons: long hours and need a wide knowledge base (more of a pro)

Afrisam is a company that does not look after the staff. Safety is the company's first and most important thing. Opportunities are not up to scratch.
