Woolworths is a playground for people that think they better then you.

Favoritism is playing a big role aswell. It's about who you know not what you know and how you do your job. Customers likes me cause I'm always polite...and I work fast and accurate. Im never short or over with the money I make. Management think they own you. They threaten you if you speak your mind. The salary is too little to get around. You can't live off it...

Maintaining good communication, intergrity

Before working for Woolworths since I did IT computers at the college I had told myself that I want a job that will seperate me from other employees like typing on the system the wholeday however working with customers gave me that passion knowing that everyday I should make my customers smile.

Pros: I see myself working as a visual merchandiser in future
Cons: no rest on weekends ,public holidays

If im well trained i do my job very good

Working at my company its like im at my home,once u get to know your work its simple and everything is much easier,it is easier if only we get along with my co-workers and it is good to work in teamwork,my co-workers are like my family,i have learnt to be strong everyday you dealing with different people all that is needed is patience,as they say customer is always right,i enjoy working as a teamwork cause we our work effecietly..

Excellent learning curve

I am currently a foods department manager at woolworths fourways , doing the ordering, implanting promotions, pricing, maintaining company standard, customer service, opening and closing the store ( second key holder), training and motivating staff, staff meetings, scheduling, receiving. In charge of the department and also other department on the absence of their departmental manager. Front end and cash office duties. I have NQF level 4.

Pros: Great place to manage people
Cons: retail hours

Excellent working environment

working under pressure ( it's when there is long queue and customers complain of standing too long) working together as a strong team good communication being focused

Good personal leadership and good customer service

well i believe that a good working relationships with your co workers and all the staff is very importat in such a way that it create productivity and again it promoters the working environment because it does not leat to bad things,i have leanerd that working with people creates many things we make friendships with other people from within and outside the company,i enjoy working with open people and interacting with them and the most challenging aspect is when you work underpressure or maybe not coping due to change or maybe due to misunderstanding with your co worker and apart from all that talking to people in an unacceptable manner

Pros: promotions and aknowledgements makes workers feel more powerful and become productive
Cons: working abnormal hour and delaying to deliver on time

Everyday is challenging at Woolworths but exciting at the same time. We very obsessed with quality and service. We get along with staff as there's is an open door policy and transparency between management and staff
