Training

I got good training as an electrical fitter, did basic electronic circuits, motors and used testers like multimeter and merger. Interacted with training officers and artisans. It is a very intimate company you get to know everyone you work with at a personal level. Challenges are the timelines in the training schedule. Enjoy learning more about the electrical locomotive.

Pros: Good place to train, employees are friendly and easy to work with
Cons: doing the same jobs every day with no promise of being employed permanently after completion of training

Good learning curve and challenging

I love the exciting and challenging industry of electro-mechanics.I have been working practically with the company for the duration of my training days as I am extremely proficient in the maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic machines, mechanical and electrical fault-finding on machines and PLC’s, usage and installation of machinery and electrical installations and I can effectively interpret various engineering sketches, bearing fitting and replacement, alignment and fitting, valves and pumps.

Summary of my past 7 years experience

My day to day work is to provide and coordinate technical support to all the other departments on trouble shooting, maintenance and all other related subjects, fulfilling the company targets in terms of technical performances. I work with all level of employees from general worker to senior manager and I believe in team work.

Can't take that away from me

WORKING IN A INDUSTRY HAS ALWAYS BEEN DEMANDING AND CHALLENGING. PAYROLL HAS ENDLESS CHALLENGES AND HAS TAUGHT WHAT PAYING SALARIES MEAN. I WAS TOLD WE ARE DOING THE MOST IMPORTANT JOB IN THIS HUGE COMPANY. OF COURSE IT FELT GOOD. WORK DAYS ARE ALL THE SAME. WE WORK ON THE TIME SHEET METHOD. CALCULATING OVERTIME, REPORTS, PUTTING DATA ON SAP HR, FILING, ALL THESE NEEDS TO BE PERFECT. I HAVE AN AWESOME WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH CO-WORKERS AND EVEN THE BLUE COLAR WORKERS. WITH MANAGEMENT I HAVE A SOLID UNDERSTANDING. I HAVE LEARNT THAT WHAT I DO ADDS VALUE. LOVE CHALLENGES AND THOSE DAYS WHERE YOU HAVE TO PUT YOUR RUNNING SHOES ON. SOLVING PROBLEMS IS A BIG SATISFACTORY FEELING. GETTING APPROVALS FROM HIGH RANKS IN TIME. AND NOW AND THEN GETTING THE BLAME FOR OTHER PARTS OFF PAYE GOING WRONG.

Pros: MY SALARY AND NO ONE IS THE SAME. HAVING TO UNDERSTAND INDIVIDUALS AND HAVING THEM UNDERSTAND YOU
Cons: WORK LOAD (over 500 employees's time sheet x2 a monht)

I have a good experience in welding

I have a red seal,the experience I learned from on the job training during the apprenticeship period. I can weld using SMAW, GMAW,TIG,BRAZING ,Gas welding and I can weld stainless and aluminium using argon gas.

Pros: if there is promotion I like to get it.
Cons: i can work long hours.it depends to the company rules
