EXCELLENCE LEARNING CURVE
Department of Social Development is a great place to work at. My supervisors has tought me many more things so far. T hey are so passionate with their work and they make sure that i understand every aspect in the field. When it coming to my co-workers, they are mervallous we work together as a team to cut off lead times. I enjoy to make a selection of suppliers as well as inviting them to the process. Awarding and recommendation of suppliers is another part of the work that I enjoy the most. the most challenging aspect in this process is when the suppliers want to be awarded the tender even though they do not qualify and does not meet the tender requirements.
Pros: Great opportunity to learn new things and be employable after my contract is terminated
Cons: You van easily make enemies because we deal more with the suppliers who can sometimes be aggressive

Good team player
My day to day job is to capture accounts receivables and accounts payables, assist with client's quires and administration work. I have been working with a group of 6 colleagues having to argue, discuss, sharing ideas and coming up with solutions on how to meet our delaines and targets. Working for Social Development has taught me to be able to communicate with people of all levels and to compile my own working tools. The exciting part I had was when I had to do presentations to the management and attending meetings with them which made me grow from the level that I am in and to get exposure in how to manage subordinates. Working in Finance is more challenging since you have to be alert all times and sacrificing by helping other units with their work.
Pros: Permanent Position
Cons: Extra Hours and working on weekends

Excellent learning curve
Repeatation of work Bringing change to Children and the community at large is what keeps me going I have learnt that Batho pele principle and communication is core when working with people. As much as we strive to bring change in people's lives, assisting people to the best of my ability has been a challenge as the Department is more on quantity than quality.... however by knowing that i touched one life, makes me proud.
Pros: enables one to self reflect on the work done, it is a great learning opportunity for service delivery
Cons: High case load and less time and less staff

Excellent learning curve
I sometimes have a hectic day and sometimes it is just normal. I relate with officials at level and I am an extrovert and like lively environment but people must have respect for each other and observe diversity in that environment. I like bringing order and mentoring. The saying that goes you are as good as your last delivery" keeps one on the toes. I enjoy working with people who knows more than what I know because I learn from them. I enjoy working with targets. The most challenging aspect is when politicians interfere with my job. I think before I commit myself or take any decision.
Pros: Broader scope which allows one to learn
Cons: Politics

Average learning curve
My experience was not according to my studies as the Financial system are not Pastel accounting or Quick book. It was more administration. Even the audit analysis I did was not even used as our only aim was to fund pre schools and any reports I did were not used by my senior as they did not see a need it. The administration was so exhausting as we have been dealing with more than 200 organizations.
Pros: Working with organizations in disadvantage areas
Cons: The was more administration to be done and exhausting at time
