There is lot of courses being offers to management and staff to develop themselves

Working with different customers everyday it builds you as a person to become a better communicator ,good decision making and problem solving It improves ones self esteem Working with staff and colleague's you learn more about difficulties in other families and how to help them and it builds a good relationship between me,colleagues and my team. It also help one to grow and adapt quickly with new changes It enables you to be able to face challenges As a mentor there is times when you have to train a manager who came from a different industry and the person not willing to change from a different environment Sometimes you came across an employee who is not performing due to family problems as u have to help the individual instead of dismissing the person

Pros: Lots of training in progress
Cons: Night shift works,public holiday and long weekends hours,no time for family

In this company, most people came having nothing in their mind about retail

Daily basis, we always came early due to day by day morning talk, for us and the manager to give ideas about the target we have to meet for the company, to motivate and to ensure that everyone know what to do, when to do that and how to do it We like to be a team, because working together can lead us doing more and get more easy to meet our target given. I learned to operate a till, merchandising, replenishing, respect, integrity, performance and courage. I mostly enjoy working on a till, as it getting familiar to me. At the till point it is where the customer and the employee meet and give what is needed. The company get money, and the customers get what they need/want. What's challenging is a customer who is unhappy, mind you, there are those customers who demand attention.

Pros: Most of the time, I can say this this company is the one who give people more opportunities in promotions and growth. It open a lot of stores for the perporse of giving job to people.
Cons: yes we considering time management, but we got ourselves working more hours and the company is not paying for that.

Great path for personal growth and grar opportunity for best work experience

Ackermans its a big company I encounter more People and for that, learned more of working with people preparing the store image and standards it's crucial. In an environment surrounded by people I got to learn that,you learn each day from each other,long working hours it's a challenge on its own, helping people making their day makes it worth a while pure enjoyment

I am hard working person and I have a good customer service representative and I am a good team player and I am also punctual, respect everyone around I have the skills and ability to work you won't regret for hiring me.

Excellent exposure to various job functions

I , Hooijaam Abrahams enjoyed working at my previous employer. A typical working day was not always good but one has to stay positive and I always try and turn the negative situations into positives. I had a fantastic working relationship with the entire staff complement internal as well as in our stores. I have learnt that with a can do attitude one achieves more. I personally believe in always giving my very best and stay motivated. Personally my challenging part of my job was not the job, but to let my co workers also become as positive.

Great development

Monday I assess what product is late into DC and feedback to management. Excellent and bad performing product is assessed and communicated to management. On a weekly I contact local and import suppliers on marketing samples they need to submit before deadline. Internally I check and approve that the marketing samples information is correct including DC date, pricing, product info with marketing specialist and relevant team members. Marketing samples is prepared for range review by management. Weekly competitive analysis. range building and review with directors. Future product strategies developed. Negotiate with suppliers for best prices weekly. prepare margin doc for you management. The most challenging part of the job was using old systems. I've learnt to negotiate effectively and this has become my favourite part on the job. Daily I assess the fit quality of product and communicate to suppliers.

Cons: I didn't take full ownership of product

I have learn how to merchandise and also to do administration

It is a great thing to known your work.everyday in the morning you known that you have to fill the gaps you go to the stock room and take the stock that is needed to make sales and also for our customer ( stock availability ) and store intercity for the customers so that they can move properly with their trolleys. We were like family with my coworkers we help each other.I enjoy companies rules and they buy us break fast if we meet the target. My challenge is that on a retail their is a monthly visit you have to work hard tidy the place and knock off late so that they we could make same points.

Pros: Easily get a promotion
Cons: Long working hours and you don't get paid for that.

Fast learne

first of all is that i am a christian, i am kind towards every person i work with, weather white or black, i treat every person with respect weather young or old i have good morals, i am always happy friendly and loving.i respect my job and i do not compromise my job weather good paying or not, when i do something i do it with patience and love i am a hard worker also i work like tomorrow will never come, and i also obey those who are above me, when you ask me to do something i will not ask many question like why i will just do it.

Pros: i have learned to work with different people
Cons: i was working for 8 and 9 hours

Excellent communication and learning

My first day at work wasn't easy but I manage to compromise and will to work as hard as I can then I get used to it.it was quite hard to meet new face and make friend but I remine calm so that I'll be able to get to a situation.I manage to learn how to treat customers and to be responsible.Actually I would like to say I enjoyed to work with different people and different mind wasn't easy but I loved it.It's bit challenging to work with people who are not trusted.
